Lovely and comfortable
We stayed for a four night Christmas break. Loved it. The cottage is so comfortable and warm. We were left complimentary logs for the fire, wine and milk and there were thoughtful touches like Christmas decorations and a washing machine tablet (small but thoughtful gesture). The village itself and surrounds were lovely. Jayne made good contact with us and offered advice on what to do.
Beautiful and Cute
The village is picturesque and the house is lovely it is very roomy and the kids enjoyed.
Enjoyable despite the weather
Comfortable and cosy cottage, although in need of a little TLC. Well equipped kitchenwise though we failed to figure out how to get the oven to work. A house book of useful numbers locally (eg doctor, dentist, hospital) would be good as well as ‘how to’ for cooker, central heating, rubbish etc. Owner was helpful in giving suggestions for places to visit and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. The garden needs some work on it to make it an inviting space to sit in. However the weather was such that it was too cold to do so anyway.
Nice little cottage, well equipped, lovely wood burner in the lounge and comfortable chairs; owner very kindly left out a welcome bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch, and milk in the fridge. Beds were comfortable, heating worked well (which was necessary for November!) and the location was very good.
The parking space at the front of the cottage was a little tricky due to pavement curbs
An ideal base for exploring the area
Two of us stayed in September 2018, and found it a comfortable base in a pretty village. Lovely walks literally from the doorstep, and several good pubs serving food in easy reach. Cottage was comfortable and well equipped, and the double bed was very comfortable - although the bedroom is "cottage size"! Nice to have garden and garden furniture available. If parking in front of the cottage it will be useful to have help backing onto the road. Essential supplies of wine and milk on arrival a happy touch. Thank you Jayne.
An area of outstanding natural beauty. The stour valley, with Dedham, Flatford, Lavenham, Long Melford, Bury St. Edmunds all close by. Cambridge and Newmarket within 45 minute drive.
