Our family commutes regularly between Oahu and Hawaii Island. I work for the university of hawaii and my husband prints the local newspaper. On our free time we enjoy body surfing, hiking, discovering new hole in the wall eateries and hanging ot with family and friends.

We came to Hilo for the weekend to visit my mom before we move back to the mainland. When we walked into the house we were very happy. My wife said I could live here. It was reasonably priced and while the outside of the house is dated the inside was very clean and comfortable. It looked exactly as the pictures depicted and the location was awesome.
This place was perfect! It was really like a home away from home! The check-in was simple and easy. The Check-out was easy and simple.
The kitchen was spacious and equipped with more than I could have asked for! There was a working oven, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and rice cooker. There was eating utensils, cooking utensils, pots and pans, paper towels, dish washing soap and sponges. There was also trash bags. There was also a few cooking supplies (pepper, salt, cooking oil).
The living room was spacious and comfy and I did enjoy the breeze that came through the house with the windows and blinds open. The smell is also refreshing and the idea of placing febreeze on the fans was brillant! I will definitely use this idea in my home as well!
The bathroom was nice and clean with lots of towels and hot water that lasts! The bedrooms was both the same size, nice and cool. I loved that there were hangers in the closet and there was a t.v in all the rooms as well as wifi! Loved the garage and yard, perfect for bbq or kids playing in the back and parking was great!
No one really bothered us and the neighborhood was quiet (except the koki frogs). Close to everything, the mall, Walmart, supermarket and freeways/highways.
I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends as this place is definitely better than saying at a hotel/inn/motel in Big Island.
Thank you for the stay and for making us fell at home!
Absolutely loved this place! We were able to book this place last minute and I'm glad we did! The small home was perfect for my boyfriend, his daughter and myself, maybe even another family of 2-3! The kitchen was big, spacious and equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, toaster a working stove and oven. Dish washing soap, paper towels, dish towels, plates, eating utensils, pots, pans and serving utensils, trash bags and wine opener was available! There was a few cooking supplies as well, pepper, salt and cooking oil. The refrigerator was clean and nice as well!
The living is spacious as well! Loved how the wind blew through the house when the windows were open and loved the place smelt refreshing! There are blinds, I had a difficulty opening and shutting them but that's only because I prefer curtains.
The bathroom was a nice size with towels and a laundry basket. Perhaps changing the shower head to a more updated one. The water was hot and stayed hot which was great because I love long hot showers!
The bedrooms were cozy, both about the same size. Loved that there were hangers in the closet and the blankets and sheets were nice as well!
A washer and dryer is provided. A nice yard/garage for a bbq or kids to play outside. Parking is great! It is close to everything shops, Walmart, the mall and the main highways.
The house is old and it looks like it from the outside, but the inside is nice, cozy and really did enjoy this home away from my home. It was safe and really no one bothered us.
Thank you for the stay and all the amenities included! Definitely better than staying in a hotel and definitely recommending the place to the family and friends!
The home was clean and comfortable. Fit our family just right. Thank you from the Guerreiro Ohana for letting us stay in your home.
Check in was fine and description was not inaccurate. However, the windows are the slated, old school kind and many of them don't open or close properly, and the birds are very loud in the morning and evening so double pane windows would be valuable there. The blinds, curtains, flooring, and kitchen did not feel or look clean. Minimal supplies available. Thankfully we weren't planning to cook. We didn't feel the back door lock was secure, especially given the low traffic Neighborhood.
I wouldn't recommend the place for families with young kids. Perhaps friends or even a couple who dont plan to spend much time inside at all. Just a place to crash. The bedrooms and bathrooms were fine (aside from the windows). It's possible many places in Hilo are simpler but this place was old and considerably less enjoyable than our place on the West coast and we would have paid more for a cleaner, newer, safer feeling stay.
This house is located in a great location - convenient and easy to find. It is an older home but is clean.
The house is old but comfortable and clean. The location is convenient to the air port and town.
Needed one more blanket and some soap in the bathroom. In all we enjoyed our stay,
