About Graham Kidd
Hi our names are Graham and Kerry. Whitby is the love of our life we purchased this property in 2007 with two builders as a derelict hotel. We converted it into 7 luxury apartments and my wife and I purchased the whole of the top floor from the company and created the stunning county loft. The property oozes character and boasts fantastic views. This will be our retirement home but in the meantime you and your friends and family can share it.

Smart, comfortable , sparkling clean, great views
Slightly unpreposessing entrance - but that’s a minor quibble , because the apartment itself is superb. Beautifully renovated and furnished to provide first class accommodation. Comfortable, welcoming, warm and spacious. Lovely views of the abbey across the rooftops and very convenient for walking to and fro into town and the harbour side. We had no trouble parking. I’d highly recommend this place for either a couple or a family. It’s lovely.
First rate experience. The flat was bigger than we expected, very comfortable, and within easy walking distance to the centre. Grest virws from evrry room. We had no problems parking close by. Graham responded instanteously when we needed help with the thermostat.
A very fine aprtment for two 70+ ex-Brits on a nostalgia trip. Nothing provided could have been better. We were warned about the place not being good for those with mobility issues. In a couple of years, the climb to the apartment and the steps to the third floor will be too much. But hardly the owner's fault!
Flat 1 The County, Whitby
Had a wonderful stay in this lovely, clean and well equipped property. Easy walk to town centre and Whitby's attractions.
Ideal for Whitby town centre and surrounding area
The apartment is situated a few minutes walk from the town centre, railway and bus stations, harbour and shops/restaurants. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. You do need to be reasonably fit as it is up a steep hill and three flights of stairs. The upside of this is the views over Whitby from the apartment. The one issue we found was parking as the apartment has no dedicated parking space. You have to find a space in the surrounding streets. We arrived on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend and couldn't find anywhere to park so ended up in the long stay car park till the following day. We did find a space after the bank holiday and the second week was much better. Not a criticism, just something to be aware of if you arrive at peak season. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and re-visiting our favourite places around North Yorkshire.
The property was perfect for the four of us. Very close to the centre but very quiet. Fantastic views from all rooms. Everything we could have wanted was provided. The only improvement would have been a separate toilet. We would certainly come again.
Whitby is unique and is steeped in history, it is the Town Bram Stokers had the inspiration for Dracula; Whitby Abbey is probably the most iconic in the world.
Whitby is also the town Captain Cook planed his journeys and has the Captain Cook museum. Whitby has not changed for centuries and is one of the most unique unspoiled idyllic sea side towns in the U.K
We have the Steam Train visiting Whitby throughout the day, you can catch a Steam Train 22 miles to Pickering passing through the valley through some of the most pictures villages in Yorkshire.
Whitby museum is fascinating, Whitby is on the Jurassic Coast and has some of the finest fossil in the U.K; we also have the unique and world famous Whitby Jet found nowhere else on earth.
The harbour is still a working fishing harbour with the fascinating hustle and bustle of working crab, lobster and fishing boats. Whitby has the beautiful St Marys Church on the hill next to the Abbey.
Ghost walks, Pirates, Captain William Scoresby the famous whaler, Henry Freeman the famous Coxswain, Dracula, St Hilda, the history and fascination of Whitby and is unique and endless.
Couple this with it having some of the finest pubs many with live entertainment, Incredible restaurants, Magpies the world’s best fish and chips. Witby is surrounded by the most stunning coastline and fishing villages in England, it’s on the edge of the stunning North York Moors, why go anywhere else !
I personally think it is the finest small town in England.
