Overview

About the property

Modern beach house in a small cluster of holiday homes, footsteps from the beach

7 Sandpiper Cottage is a brand new luxury beachfront house which is a few steps away from the beautiful Porth Beach on the spectacular North Cornwall coast. The cottage is third up from the front so offers privacy but still only seconds away from the beach. The cottage is very spacious, with contemporary decor, quiet and relaxing and equipped to a high standard.

The Beach is perfect for young families and has a large expanse of open flat sand which is great for beach games when the tide is out. Life guards are on patrol during the summer making it safe for swimming and body boarding. It has a stream flowing down the shoreline and a little island with a wooden bridge across it. There are plenty of rock pools to explore and the views from the headland are stunning. There are a couple of ice-cream shops, a cafe right on the beach. The Mermaid pub also backs onto the beach, and there is a popular coffee shop,Tapas restaurant just across the road.

The cottage is one of nine new houses built on on the land of the old Sandpiper Hotel. The accommodation is split across two levels, with the lounge and kitchen on the top floor which has partial views of the beach and headland. There is oak flooring throughout and comfy seating. Dining is at the kitchen breakfast bar. The living room and kitchen are open plan and are equipped with everything you will need for your holiday. This includes a Bosch oven, Induction hob, washer/dryer, Expresso machine, BBQ, dishwasher, FreeSat TV, DVD player, Wifi and Wii console.

The top level also has one bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. Downstairs there are two spacious bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and a patio door leading out to a private outside decking area, which has a table and chairs for outdoor eating. The second bedroom has zip and link beds that can either be arranged as two single beds or as a kingsize bed. The layout of the house is suitable for a family of six or four adults and two children but not six adults. There is also a travel cot for young babies.

There is a private designated parking spot, a shared seating area overlooking the beach and benches for picnics. There is a large communal storage area ideal for storing surf boards and beach equipment, together with a shower for washing off the sand.

Well presented/decorated apartment with all the modern conveniences required from WiFi, to a washing/dryer for our family of 5. Fabulous location and immaculately clean. Being so close to the beach front is an added bonus. Great value for money., we don’t hesitate to recommend. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Thank you so much Jill, we cannot wait to come again! :0)

7 Sandpiper is a lovely holiday home with all the conveniences you have at home. I was particularly impressed by the lovely big beds for a good night's sleep and the well stocked kitchen so that we never ran out of plates & glasses.

Porth Beach

Surrounding area and things to do.

There are so many stunning beaches within easy reach. Many of these also offer world class surfing. Porth is a great family beach which is less crowded that other beaches in peak season. The tide goes a long way out and leaves a long flat beach with two streams running down the length of the beach which small children love to play in. Lusty Glaze is only a few minutes walk around the headland and has a great beach cafe with live bands and surfing. Watergate Bay is a 40 minute walk, and as with the Newquay beaches (Lusty Glaze, Towcarnie, Towan & Fistrel) much of this walk can be covered across the beach when the tide is out. Crantock beach offers huge sand dunes. Polzeath, Constantine Bay, Mawgan Porth and Daymer Bay are but a few of the other great beaches nearby.

For walking enthusiasts, there is the renowned Cornish coastal walk; you can walk for miles across the cliff tops in either direction of Porth.

Other attractions are Newquay Zoo, tennis centre with indoor and outdoor courts, and a swimming pool (plus fun pool) are only 5 minutes drive. There also fantastic golf courses in the area.

There are plenty of great restaurants and beach cafes including Watergate Bay Hotel and Jamie Oliver's fifteen restaurant, Lusty Glaze, The Catch & Scott & Bab's at Mawgan Porth, The Stable and Fish House (Fistrel Beach).

Padstow and St.Ives are both pretty harbour towns that are not far to visit if you fancy wandering around the shops in the narrow cobbled streets.
