Our two level house is located in the beautiful island of Aegina, the Saronic island only 45 minutes away from Athens. The property is a two level house with a large front and back yard including parking space and a barbecue area.
The 3 bedrooms villa can accommodate up to 7 visitors. A large living room and dining area on the first floor, a smaller living area on the ground floor next to the main entrance, 3 full bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The beautiful veranda give a panoramic view of the surroundings and the garden surrounds the house providing the places either for sunbathing or for having a beverage in the shadow. It is suitable for children, who can play and enjoy the huge garden. Our little friends can also play with toys and read books provided by the owner.
The house includes a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom which can host 3 visitors as there is an extra twin bed and a bedroom with 2 single beds! The house is also suitable for those with disabilities as there is a bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor easily accessible from the garden.
Beautiful Aegina is full of beaches all around the island whether you are looking for sandy ones with beach bars and shallow waters or rocky cliff - jumping into deep waters! Well known for the local pistachio nuts production. Don’t forget to taste local goodies like salty baked pistachios, pistachios ice cream or pistachios cocktails ! If you are lucky to be a September visitor you can as well take part in the four days Pistachio festival where there is a lot of music, dance, celebration, local foods and artistic activities.
Once you get there you can also visit the famous church of Agios Nektarios. One of the most widely known Greek Orthodox Saints who was officially recognized as a saint by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople in 1961.Thousants of Christians visit the island each time of the year to witness his miracles! The monastery is located in Palaiochora, which used to be the capital of the island from 9th to 19th century! It is the perfect place to wander in the remains of the old village between the old castles and churches. Another place to visit when in Aegina is the Temple of Aphaia, built on 500 BC over the remains of an earlier temple which was destroyed by fire. The great Doric temple is located within a sanctuary complex dedicated to the mother-goddess Aphaia!
Aegina is an excellent place to choose for your vacation as it includes all the beauties that a Greek island offers yet so close to the capital, Athens!
You can reach there within 45 minutes if you take the Flying Dolphin from Piraeus Port, Athens or within 75 minutes if you take the regular ferry.
