|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
In a building of the XVth 'arrondisement' (area), we offer a high standard apartment, combining modern comfort with a setting of character. Ideally, the apartment has a 1 or 2 people capacity and possibility to receive a child.
The main room is made up of a living room with a foldaway couch for 2 people, a coffee table and a fully equipped open plan kitchen. There is also mezzanine in an unusual setting in a boat cabin style (children love it).
Equipped with old and contemporary furniture, television, telephone, Internet, Wi-fi, DVD player, stereo, a modifiable coffee table, office, all being carefully decorated.
This is a lovely place, combining the experience of living in a medieval building with a lovely decorated apartment. It opens onto a bustling square in Old Lyon, though inside the courtyard it is very quiet. Lots of delicious restaurants and shops nearby. As others have said, the apartment is rather dark, but the lighting is nicely done. Spacious living room, even when the sofa bed is pulled out. On a raised ground floor, you only have to carry your suitcases up about 10 stairs. Note that cell reception does not come through the stone walls.
My husband and I spent 3 lovely days in this quaint, but modern and excellently located, apartment. It is situated in the heart of old Lyon which is heavy with tourists, but the apartment is quiet and has everything one needs for a pleasant stay. Walking out the door you find yourself in the midst of shops, restaurants and cafes. Lyon is a beautiful city and there is much to see and do. Our hosts Brigitte and Steve were friendly and helpful. They even accepted our little traveling companion Marcel , a 3 kilo caniche ( poodle) dog.
We will stay here again on our next visit to Lyon. !!!
This is a fantastic location for people wishing to stay in the heart of Vieux Lyon! It is in a very old building (built in the 1300s i think). It is near many historic buildings, one block from the Saone River, a short walk away from the Cathedral, the Metro and the funicular which takes you to the top of the Fourviere Hill where the Bastille is located as well as two ancient Roman sites. There are nearby markets, bakeries, restaurants and a dizzying array of shops. A few blocks away appears to be a district that supports digital animation companies with several shop windows showing cute mechanical animations. Across the river is Place Bellecour which is a short walk away and has one of the best tourist offices we have ever visited.
We stayed in the apartment for three nights and slept on the fold-out bed in the living room which we found to be very comfortable. The apartment was spacious, clean, safe, quiet, well equipped (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, television, phone and on and on), warm, comfortable and very relaxing. It is on the French first floor (second floor for U.S. folks). Light comes in through one set of windows, so it is a little dim. There wasn’t anything about the apartment that we disliked. We thought the apartment reflected the pride of ownership that Steve and Brigitte must have in it.
We honestly couldn't have asked for a better place in Lyon (Vieux). It was the cutest apartment with all the original character of its rich history (wooden beams, stone walls etc). Great size for a couple or even a small family. It was within walking distance of anything you could ever need in Vieux Lyon. But, what I loved best was that it also just happened to be in one of the city's infamous 'traboules'. As a great grand daughter of a French Resistance Member this was the cherry on top. I LOVED this place and will recommend it to anyone and everyone. Also, both Steve and Brigitte are exceptional people, kind, fun and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your charming apartment!!!
We spent early last summer in Lyon after touring northern Spain and southern France. This flat was so comfy (bed was a pullout) and in the heart of Old Lyon. Interesting architecture and tunnels to tour. We ate some of the best food ever in the city. Steve and Bridgette were gracious hosts, accomodating in every way. Steve plays the cello in the symphony and it was an extra treat to see him perform. We hope one day to return to this lovely city. Highly recommend you stay with these folks, you will not be disappointed. Sorry it has taken so long to write this, but we are still on the go!
Best, Bonnie & Jim
This apartment was quite comfortable, with excellent heart of Vieux Lyon location. Extremely quiet despite the lively neighborhood. A bit dim since the only window opens to internal courtyard. Kitchen well equipped with microwave, espresso machines, dishwasher, etc. Also laundry,tv, wi fi, good shower. Roomy. Exactly as pictured in the website.
My 2 teenagers shared the loft bed and liked it. I used the fold out couch which was just ok.
The hosts met us at the apartment and were very professional.
The location was absolutely great. Many, many restaurants right outside the front door. River only one block away. Beautiful neighborhood with great feel and interesting architecture. Located at end of St Paul tram line made it easy to get around all of Lyon. Also several Velo bikes stations nearby.
Cour Renaissance is a very quiet apartment in a XVth century building.
In the heart of the pedestrianized area of Saint-Jean. The Place du Change is next to the cultural sites and shop. In the middle of a pedestrianized zone, you will find, also, a wide variety of restaurants in which you can discover or discover for a second time Lyon's cooking specialities.
Parking nearby, not free, (100 m away), access to the tourist sites and the peninsula in less than 10 min on foot.
