Comfortable and Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I made a quick decision to go to Sante Fa for a few days and were lucky to find David's Casita. What a nice little place! Clean, well, appointed, comfortable, with a great location (10 minute walk to The Plaza), at a great price. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Great location and unique ambiance.

  • 5 of 5

The location can't be beat. Park your car and walk to everything in old town. Literally steps to Georgia O'Keeffe museum. Getting to meet with David and see and learn about his fascinating life and beautiful art is the highlight of staying here. Luxury it's not but it makes up for that in charm. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

David's Casita is a great little place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at David's Casita by the Plaza. Very clean and uncluttered. We had several opportunities to talk with David and get to know more about the town and things going on; great guy and very generous - he loaned us some jackets one evening as we were going out as we hadn't really prepared for cool evening weather. Located just down the street from the Georgia O'Keeffe museum, it's very close to the Plaza and a multitude of restaurants.

The bedroom has a queen bed and is very comfortable and plenty of shelf space to unpack and organize your stuff. Large leather couch in the living room is also very comfortable. The bathroom is clean and modern and has a wall to wall, floor to ceiling mirror on one end. The kitchen is small but adequate for minimal cooking; 2 burner stove, dorm sized fridge, toaster oven for baking. The internet wifi is a little pokey but it does get the job done. 1 off-street parking space is included. All in all, we had a wonderful time in Santa Fe and this place made our visit very comfortable and enjoyable.

Close to town

  • 4 of 5

This was a very nice little place to stay and Karen was extremely kind and helpful. The kitchen has everything if you want to stay at home and eat in, and it is very quiet and very secluded. I walked to town everyday, just leaving my car, because it was so close and so convenient.

Quaint hideaway

  • 5 of 5

I chose to stay at this casita rather than the conference hotel. Even though the hotel (Drury) was a fine venue and convenient, I wanted the privacy and neighborhood experience that I love about Santa Fe. This little place was the ticket. It is ideal for one or two people. The kitchenette met my needs with a range top, microwave, toaster oven and a small refrigerator. I stayed for ten days and would be comfortable in this place for a longer visit. There is an air-conditioner which kept the place as cool as I needed it to be in the dog days of summer that can now hit Santa Fe. A small patio allows one to enjoy the mornings and evenings. I could have fired up the grill to cook, too.

The casita is behind an art gallery, another plus, and great restaurants not haunted by many tourists are nearby, across the street or a couple of blocks away. Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is a few steps from this place on the same street and it is an easy walk--three blocks--to the plaza and other museums, shopping, parks. There is a parking space, so your vehicle, if you have one, is used only as needed.A couple of grocery stores (Sprouts, Albertson's) and a convenient, quaint mall are within a 1/2 mile, too.

The description of the casita is accurate, and the property was clean and well-maintained. I had a property manager to contact if needed, but the owner, David Copher, is the artist in the gallery on the same property. It was a treat to meet and visit with him. He made sure I had his cell number in case I didn't reach the manager and I had any concerns of being by myself. It was terrific hospitality and I appreciated it.

The only minor complaint I have is with the shower. It worked well, but it is a little small. I know my husband and most tall and large men will be uncomfortable using it. But the price, the location, the art gallery and owner, and the other comforts are well worth it if you need a small one-two person hideaway. I'll consider it a place for return in the future.
