The Owner purchased this condo in 2014
Walking distance to Pier Park is a major benefit of Tidewater. For those that prefer to drive, it's only two minutes by car. Restaurants like The Back Porch and Pompano Joe's are great venues with new locations in Pier Park. Want to be indoors? Dave & Buster's offers fun games (kids and adults love this place), or catch up on that movie you've been wanting to see back home. Just next to Pier Park is a Super Target and Super Wal-Mart should you need to pick up a few items before coming back to the condo.
Vacationing in the gulf offers beautiful beaches. Tidewater is unique because the size of the building means there are lots of additional amenities. Multiple rows of lounge chairs with umbrellas line a wide shoreline. There are two outdoor pools and two outdoor hot tubs. There is even an indoor pool and indoor hot tubs. If you like to walk along the beach the walk towards Pier Park (and the long fishing pier) is a nice walk and you'll walk past quiet beach front homes.
The view from Tidewater is amazing. The sunset is visible over the ocean from the balcony. When it's warm out you might see dolphins jumping and playing about 200 feet off shore. At night sometimes you'll see people night fish.
This is an updated unit! Once you walk inside the condo there is no doubt you're at the beach! It's been decorated in fun beach decor. Walk out onto the balcony: look left and you'll city the fishing pier at Pier Park, look right and you'll see the sunset over the ocean every night (photographs great).
We store beach chairs under the bunk beds for guests to use.
I'm impressed with Tidewater itself and the staff that were very accommodating. I'm disappointed with the unit we were presented with upon arrival and the responses from Nicole.
I had to reach out for the door codes to access the unit when I arrived as they were not provided ahead of time. After a 15 hour drive with 8 family members we were ready to get settled in and enjoy our vacation. When entering the unit, we noticed the beds were not made and dirty linens. There was sand and dirty bath towels on the floor. Going into the kitchen area there were crumbs of food. I was really disappointed after reading all the previous reviews.
I reached out to Nicole through email and received a response that the dirty unit was unacceptable and that she would be refunding my money. The door code was going to be changed and there should be units available next door. I was told no one would be available to clean the unit due to it being the weekend. What a way to treat your guests!!
We've used VRBO several times and have always enjoyed the experience until visiting this property. We paid for our trip in advance but a day before our trip Nicole emailed us that the building had a new policy and charged $25 per check in, which she promised to pay if we provided her with our information in advance. We did so, but never heard back. At check in we found that she had failed to register us and pay the fee and the front desk had no record of us whatsoever. She had not provided a phone number (red flag) just her email address which she again did not respond to. It took us over an hour to get everything straightened out and we paid the extra $25 out of pocket. There was another long line for the luggage carts so we skipped that and carried everything in by hand, but still had a 45 minute wait for the elevators. It took us two and a half hours from when we arrived to when we finally made it up to the condo. That evening we emailed Nicole again regarding the $25 reservation fee and to request the wifi or amenities passwords which were not provided at check in. We received no response.
The unit itself is fine and held our family as well as another family comfortably. We found room for a pack and play in the larger bedroom. The bunk room has two twin beds and its own bathroom and worked well for the older children. We were disappointed to find that the unit was missing lots of staples. There were no trash bags, no dish soap, no detergent, no coffee filters (who travels with those?!) and a shortage of toilet paper. Other reviewers had mentioned that these specific items were included so we didn't pack them. The profile lists that housekeeping is provided but we never saw a housekeeper. The bathmats had not been washed prior to our stay and when I moved one aside I found used chewing gum underneath. There were dishes in the cupboard that had clearly been used and then put away unwashed. There was nothing provided to sanitize the surfaces or hand-wash pots and pans. We never did hear back from Nicole. The resort itself is bare-bones, nothing charming about it. It reminded us of an economy motel that happened to be on a beach. Our average elevator wait time was 40 minutes. The beach is nice but plan to haul everything up and down 9 flights of stairs or wait, wait, wait.
Very close to Pier park and lots of food nearby. two pools and great beach. The only negative is the elevators. How can a location with seven(7) elevators have such a LONG wait period to get on one? Over 20 mins. at times No Joke. Room was good beds could use some updating overall a great stay during the 4th of July week.
Since my 3 boys (ages 16, 14 and 7) were out of school for fall break, I decided sorta last minute on a beach trip. Nicole is very responsive and easy to deal with, plus the place is fantastic. More than enough room for all 4 of us. All of the furniture is in great shape and very comfortable. Wonderful view of the beach from the balcony which has 2 small tables and 4 chairs. Nicole also provides 4 beach chairs so no need to worry about that. The resort itself was great. multiple indoor and outdoor pools, same for hot tubs, arcade, movie theater, reasonably priced cafe and beach equipment rental place right out back on the beach (paddle boards, banana boat rides, water bikes, etc.). And right next to it is another kiosk that rents wave runners. Also very close to Pier Park (Shopping, restaurants and even a mini-amusement park) and a Walmart. Really great place and location. We definitely want to book again!
Loved every minute of this vacation! We stayed in this unit with one other family (a total of 4 adults and 4 children) and had more than enough space! There is plenty of storage for everyone's belongings, and the kitchen even has a pantry. The condo is supplied with plenty of towels, extra blankets and pillows and linen for the sofa-sleeper. The kitchen is adequately stocked, and we were provided enough dish soap and dishwasher detergent to get through the week (we only ran the dishwasher twice as we mostly used paper plates or ate out). We loved the beachy decor and thought the unit was very clean upon our arrival. The owner provides 4 beach chairs that you can take to and from the beach every day...a HUGE money saver! We also loved having access to a washer/dryer right inside the condo (although the dryer took several cycles to get the job done!). There are 4 TVs in this unit (I think we only turned on one the whole time!) and free wifi (which is spotty at times).
After reading many reviews about the insufficient number of elevators at Tidewater, we were a little worried, but it was NO problem for us at all. The longest we waited was 5 minutes (although since we had such a large group, we would often have to pass on a few elevators that arrived nearly full). Check-in and check-out was extremely quick and easy, and we had no trouble getting luggage carts to pack/unpack the car. They even have grocery carts available for your trips to the store. Beach access is easy, the pools are huge with conveniently located restrooms and lots of seating, and the private balconies offer an amazing view. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Overall it was the perfect home away from home!
We had a wonderful stay in this unit early in May. The condo was very large and it's clear that every room was decorated with care. It truly felt like staying at a friend's home, with lots of little decor touches that make the best condos more enjoyable than a typical hotel room. It was stocked with everything we could have needed in the kitchen, plenty of bathroom towels and the starter kit (small detergent, dish soap etc) that we expected. Most importantly, it was very clean! My husband and I visit PCB annually and this was much nicer than some of the near-by condos we have stayed at in the past- especially important now that we have a baby vacationing with us! Sitting on the balcony enjoying a drink at the end of the day was beautiful, as we were able to watch the sunset light up the sky.
It was our first time at Tidewater and we were very pleased with the property as a whole. The onsite restaurant wasn't great but would be acceptable in a pinch. However, with Pier Park a short distance away, there were plenty of other options nearby, plus the Target Market also in Pier Park if we had wanted to pick up things to cook at the condo. The tiki style pool bar had just opened for the season and served delicious frozen drinks. We did not rent chairs, but carried the ones provided in the condo down to the beach with an umbrella we brought. Since the condo is right on the beach, this was super easy and I would definitely plan to do it again rather than rent chairs.
We had no problems with excess noise, parking or elevators.
In short, it was a fantastic experience and we look forward to renting this unit again for our next trip to PCB!
