This spacious accommodation in a comfortable upper flat has free on-street parking nearby and regular bus services to the city centre. The front garden leads to the main door, through which a flight of stairs leads to all the accommodation. A hallway gives access to all the rooms. There are three double bedrooms, a large living-room, a separate dining room, a well-appointed kitchen, and a private garden. The bathroom has a bathtub with shower over, a WC and hand basin. Access is via an internal stair from the ground level.

Geschmackvolle geräumige Wohnung

In dieser Wohnung haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Sie ist sehr schön eingerichtet, sauber, modern und mit allem ausgestattet, was man in einer Ferienwohnung brauchen könnte. Zur Wohnung, die sich im ersten Stock befindet (steile Treppe, Untermieter sind scheinbar etwas geräuschempfindlich, aber unproblematisch), gehört noch ein hübscher kleiner Garten mit herrlich duftenden Rosen und Sitzgelegenheit. Zwei Minuten entfernt befindet sich die Bushaltestelle, so dass das Zentrum in ca. 20 min gut zu erreichen ist (mehrere Buslinien mit 10 min-Takt). Aber auch zu Fuß ist die Innenstadt gut erreichbar (ca. 50 min Spaziergang an Cafes und kleinen Läden entlang). Nach einem Tag im Trubel ist es dann schön, in die ruhige Wohnung zurückzukehren. Rosslyn Chapel (letzte Szene im Film Der Davinci Code -Sakrileg) ist übrigens mit dem Auto nur 10 min entfernt und unbedingt eine Reise wert!

Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter lief unkompliziert und herzlich. Der Schlüssel wurde uns mit ausreichend Vorlauf nach Hause geschickt.

Comfortable, bright and spacious

A great flat, ideal for our family holiday in Edinburgh. The flat is located near to bus routes which take you into Morningside (good coffee shops and places to eat) or the city centre where we went to a show in The Pleasance, escaped from Locked in Edinburgh(Escape Room) and had a fascinating tour of Mary King's Close.

The flat is also approx 5 mins drive from the city bypass so we found it easy to go in the car to various places, shopping parks and attractions e.g. Peebles, Jupiter Artland, Xtreme Karting at Newbridge, Straiton Retail Park and Braids Hills Golf Driving Range.

The flat was a great base to chill, relax and recharge our batteries A great week in Edinburgh.

Charming and comfortable

We had enormous disruption to our journey so were delighted to arrive at the warm, cosy and comfortable flat after a long time travelling! Felt at home straight away.

The flat is spacious, with everything we needed and the transport links into the centre of Edinburgh are excellent. The bus stop is two minutes walk to the end of the road.

Gute Lage, wenn man kein Auto hat

Offensichtlich eine Studenten-WG, die in den Ferien weitervermietet wird.

Schottische Studenten, d.h. Marmeladengläser als normale Gläser, ein Kochtopf (dreckig) für 5 Personen und der als funktionierend beworbene Kamin hat kein Holz, was auch nicht beizuschleppen ist.

Außerdem haben wir uns (5 Personen) drei mal an Rissen und Nägeln auf der Toilette verletzt.

Die Betten waren aber sauber und nicht durchgelegen.

Parkplätze gibt es keine (tagsüber zu bezahlen) und das Parkhaus in der Nähe (Castle Terrace) kostet umgerechnet 33,- Euros pro Tag.

Zur Straße hin ein lautes Zimmer, wo Schlaf fast unmöglich ist (ein Einzelbett).

Das klingt wie Null Sterne, aber die Lage ist gut, es ist auch "typisch schottisch" und wenn man sich an dem studentischen Ambiente nicht stört, kein Auto hat und mit 4 Personen (2 Doppelbetten) dorthin fährt und essen geht (Sandwich an jeder Ecke) , dann wären es auch 5 Sterne.

Die Sterne hängen also stark von dem ab, was man wie vor Ort macht.

Noch ein Tip : Der "34" er Bus fährt direkt vom Flughafen zum Appartment und von vor der Haustür zu allen Attraktionen, so daß man kein Auto braucht.

Busfahrscheine und Tagestickets (circa 5,- Euros, Familienticket für circa 10,- Euros) sind günstig, müssen allerdings circa 1 km weg (Weaverly) gekauft werden. Oder per Internet-App.

Diese Bewertung bezieht sich auf das Appartment "Laurence Place", da es bei der Reservierung Verwirrung um das Appartment gab. Das haben wir dann mit der Agentur vor Ort (sehr reaktiv) geklärt. Fe-Wo hat uns aber weiter Infos über das falsche Appartment geschickt, so daß ich nicht weiß, ob die Bewertung jetzt das richtige Appartment trifft. Wir waren, wie gesagt "124, Laurence Place" in der Innenstadt.

As you mentioned, this is for a different property from the listing, and we note your points about the student ambient of the apartment. We're glad that you enjoyed the central location and -- as you point out -- this property is best suited to guests without a car. Edinburgh is a compact city and all the main sights are within walking distance, so a car isn't necessary for a city break in Edinburgh. We usually recommend that guests hire a car on their departure day if they are touring other parts of Scotland after their stay. The two double bedrooms are quiet because they are located at the rear of the property, but the single bedroom is at the front and overlooking the main street with traffic noise. For bus tickets, these are available from the bus driver (exact fare only), so it's not necessary to purchase tickets in advance from Waverley. Best regards, Martin
