Brand New 2015 Listing! Beautiful spacious home is newly remodeled! Quiet remote location! Horse Barn and Stables Available Also! Large open floor plan with Vaulted ceiling Living room. Family room, living room and kitchen are all in one open living area. Dining area opens onto large wooden deck with breathtaking views. Upstairs has three Bedrooms. Master with Bath, one queen, and one with twin beds. Downstairs 2 queen bedrooms,large living room, game room and a full bathroom. Kitchen Fully equipped, BBQ on deck. Living room upstairs and downstairs both have sofa- sleepers! Lots of room!

About Lindsey Jones Or Tad Mecham

I was raised in Tropic, and I built this home on Mecham family property. It is in the perfect location on the edge of town but Tropic is small enough you can walk to the center if town within minutes. Everything is in our home you will need. and Bryce is only a few minutes drive, or a 2 mile hike from the backdoor!

Nice, spacious, and excellent location

This is a very nice house with plenty of room and bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. It is only 15 very scenic minutes from the entrance of Bryce. Tropic is quiet and has a good grocery (Clarks) and a very good restaurant (Rustlers).

Lovely ranch house in a quite and peaceful setting - Great locations to explore beautiful Utah

We had six people in our group (3 couples). We absolutely loved this house. Perfect for big groups. Very spacious home with everything you need! The beds were super comfy, and the sheets were really soft! Great big kitchen with plenty of counter space to cook. It's very secluded with one neighbor so you really feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our favorite part was the cute neighbor dogs that greeted us and hung out with us on the back deck. They were big sweeties! You can tell it's an older home, one bedroom is missing a door, but overall this is a great place to stay. You are 10 miles from Bryce Canyon,

40 miles from Escalante and 20 miles from Kodechrome Basin State Park. Beautiful things to see! I highly recommend this darling Ranch house! Thank you Tad and Lindsey for sharing your beautiful home with us. :)

Sadly disappointed

The house was not in satisfactory condition.

There was a huge safety concern with no fire alarms, smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors in the house. There were hanging wires from the ceiling in multiple rooms. Three of the hanging wires appeared to be for the fire alarms, and one was for the missing light fixture.

In addition, there were many other concerns as well. The kitchen light fixture was missing its panels, so the fluorescent bulbs were exposed. Two light bulbs were out in fixture above the kitchen table. Many of the towels had large holes or tears in them. There were two lamps, one in the living room, and one in the twin bed room, that were not plugged in. The sofa in the living room was not the same one as in the picture. We had a pinkish sofa that had obvious wear on it; material seemed to be peeling in many spots. (This sofa was not pictured in the website.) The other furniture also had various stains on it. The closet doors in the master bedroom were missing. Most of the blinds throughout the home were missing the rod needed to adjust the blinds from seeing in and out of the windows. And the last of our concerns was the cleanliness of the house. It was not as clean as it could have been.

We did reach out to the owners with the hopes of getting the basic safety concerns addressed. We told them about the missing smoke/fire/carbon monoxide detectors. They said they'd have them at the house the next day. The next day we didn't have any detectors and received no phone calls. Again we called the owners, and left a message with no response.

Needless to say, all these problems, combined, were a concern for us. We were booked for three nights and only stayed two. We attempted to get other housing in the area but none was available. Due to the safety concerns, we decided to go back to our airport destination and book an additional night stay there.

We had planned this trip months in advance and were not happy to have to cut our vacation short. It was so disappointing after all this planning to not be able to continue our stay in the area. Additionally the two nights we were there were full of worry and concern for our children and ourselves with missing fire/smoke/carbon monoxide detectors.

We were also required to buy insurance on this property.

After much frustration, we would like to be reimbursed for our booking at this location. We reached out to the owners regarding this request, and no one has responded to us.

Beautiful roomy house near Bryce

This house located in Tropic is a real gem. With 5 bedrooms, six beds 3 bathrooms there is plenty of space for a large family or group. Nice town park, grocery and gas station nearby. The house is well maintained,clean and has a fully stocked kitchen. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a center ally located place to visit all round this part of Utah
