What makes this cabin unique

This home has impeccable craftsmanship and all wood interior walls. The cabin is in a quiet area so you get to sit back and relax without the noise pollution from a highway or city. A fun historical fact about the home is that it is located in Locust Ridge which is the area Dolly Parton grew up and has her mountain retreat.

Cabin is nice enough, but did not look clean windows of doors had greasy finger prints all over. The bed sheets did not look clean, the jacuzzi tub has a ring around it. As for seating outside if you have more then 2 people bring camp chairs no where to sit on decks or front porch.

This was just far enough away to feel secluded up in the mountains yet not to far away from going into Gatlinburg or the the Smokey Mountain National Park. It easily fit 8 of us comfortably and had fun games to entertain the kids while we were relaxing from our busy daytime activities. The kids didn't want to leave And were asking when they could come back again.

I myself can't wait to be able to plan another trip to the area and I would definitely stay at this cabin again and again!

Family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was just perfect for our week long family vacation. It is a little far (20 min) from Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge but after being in town all day we were always happy to get back to the quiet of the cabin. Very clean, everything in order and everything we needed to fix a few meals. Loved having the deck on both levels. We all enjoyed the foosball table and arcade game and we had no problems using the wifi. Would definitely book again if in the area. Room for our "teenager" family of four to spread out.

Nice cabin, secluded, well furnished!

  • 4 of 5

No problem finding even though it is off the beaten path. Clean, everything in working order, and kitchen had plenty of pots and pans to cook. After you get used to the mountain roads, you can get to Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge in about 20 Mins. We enjoyed the two floors as our family of five was downstairs allowing another couple, that joined us mid week, to have privacy. Jacuzzis and hot tub were great as was sitting on the porch in the dark watching "lightning bugs" or "fire flies" for you Yankees!

Beautiful, private cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is breathtaking and then there is the view! The two king beds were very comfortable and our grandson loved the bunk bed. We enjoyed several cups of coffee each morning from the rocking chairs on the deck (one of two decks). We had all the kitchen supplies we needed to cook three meals a day. The cabin was very clean and furniture was in great condition. All of the furniture was very comfortable. We spent many hours at the large kitchen table playing Skip-Bo that was in the basket of games. My only suggestion would be to add a radio or iPod docking station as we enjoy having music playing.

We did have to contact the owner as we couldn't get the front door to unlock with our code but she answered immediately and the problem was fixed in seconds!

Cute cabin but as a vacation rental it needs some work

  • 2 of 5

The cabin was a great little cabin and fit my family of 6 just fine.It was a bit further out than I would have liked but being our first time to this area it wasn't a problem. We stayed for a week which I think is a big long for this area, however we did love going on the hikes in the national park.

The rooms were nice and the decor was cute, however I think the cleanliness of the cabin could have been better ...very dusty under beds and couches, around fridge and above kitchen cabinets, windows were dirty (especially the large picture windows which was a shame because it really obscured the views) and I had to clean up dirt and what looked like dog food up around the trash can when we arrived. We have small child so these are things we noticed because she was crawling around on the floor.

I will have to say that I was disappointed that there were no pool table or dart board (my kids were excited about this) when we arrived and had not been notified of their removal.

None of the fireplaces worked, the living room fireplace the gas was shut off and we didn't want to mess with it not knowing why the gas was off and the bathroom fireplace just didn't turn on.

Also we couldn't let our smaller children out on the lower level deck because the handrail is falling apart.

If you have a large family or plan on staying longer than a few days make sure to get supplies prior to arriving...very limited paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, and no dishwasher soap. Also, there is only one regular sized garbage can and after you fill it up you have to take your garbage to a garbage disposal area which is about 15 minutes drive away...that stunk.

All in all we still enjoyed our trip

Owner's Response: Yes, the pool table and dart board have been removed. These were taken out due to the condition of the pool table and concerns regarding darts that went off-target. A new foosball table is being installed to replace the pool table. Updated pictures will be coming soon. They will show the new carpet, sofa and foosball table. Further, issues with the cleanliness and wood damage on the deck have been addressed and should no longer cause any problems.
