About the property

C19 Quercy Farmhouse with large covered dining terrace sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms

Blasi has been sympathetically renovated recently retaining many original features. The light and spacious accommodation is on two floors.

Downstairs Blasi has a large fully equipped Farmhouse kitchen. There is a second kitchen (containing a 6 burner 2 oven Falcon range) similarly equipped and is often used as the barbecue kitchen as it is closer to the covered terrace.

The large dramatic vaulted living/dining room has an oak table which seats 8 people comfortably , 3 good quality leather sofas arranged around the fireplace, which has a Godin wood burner. Here you can enjoy the luxury of space.

The living/dining room has air-conditioning HD satellite TV DVD player and internet

From the dining room French doors open onto a large covered terrace which has a hard wood dining table .The terrace is West facing a lovely spot for watching the superb sunsets.At the end of the terrace is a brick barbecue oven and beer fridge.

Downstairs has 2 double bedrooms with large beds and good quality mattresses. Both have ceiling fans and air-conditioning. There is a separate WC, two large walk-in shower rooms and a bathroom. The WC and shower room are next to the bedrooms.

The upstairs suite has 2 bedrooms 1 double and 1 twin with a separate WC and shower room. It also has a lovely reading area with a large sofa and views to the North.

Outside

Set in half an acre of pretty flowering gardens and opening onto beautiful rolling countryside Blasi is close to the Bastide towns of Lauzerte, Montcuq Moissac and Agen.

From 2019 the pool will be heated. The 10 x 5m pool has large entry steps and is one level. Ideal for playing and swimming. Here you will find plenty of good quality sun loungers and chairs and a large wooden table to relax and enjoy the view.

The property and pool are South facing and there are plenty of acacia and mulberry trees providing shady areas.

For those who like to be active the garden has a ping pong table and swingball.

For those long leisurely meals there is a 7m long West facing covered terrace with a large table near to the barbecue.

The gardens and pool are always private. We do not live at the property but are only 20 minutes away should you need anything.

Inside Blasi has 2 satellite HD TVs, DVD, Stereo & WI-FI internet. There are lots of board games and books and the main living room is air conditioned.

There is a great range of activities to do in the area from sports to gentler pursuits.

Whether you want to do a day’s walking or take a gentle stroll Blasi is perfectly situated. The gorges of Aveyron at St Antonin de Noble Val are only 40min away. Take a picnic and enjoy the gentle rapids and the long relaxing stretches of the river. Take in all the wildlife and why not go for a swim

There is also superb water sports centre at St Nicholas de la Grave, with canoes, boats and pedalos for hire or why not stroll along the banks of the Tarn and Garonne Rivers and enjoy the diversity of bird and wildlife?

Lauzerte has an excellent equestrian centre and near by there is 9 hole golf course at Sauveterre, of 5244 metres in a wooded valley with water hazards and it is suitable for players of all standards. Walibi theme park and the Vallee de Loisirs are a must.

The countryside is superb for walking, part of the famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella passes nearby.

Here you will be able to enjoy the night sky as it is one of the darkest in western Europe. August is amazing with its shooting stars. The sky is bright with stars and the Milky Way is easily seen.

Wildlife is plentiful and interesting. Red Kites fly over the fields next to the house and over the lake. Black Kites, Hen Harriers, and Lapwings with their aerobatics are fun to watch and we have an owl which likes to visit us. Buzzards and kestrels are common, often perching on telegraph poles beside the lanes.

Closer to earth, wild boar, deer, badgers and hares are often seen nearby in the fields.

About Robert and Alison

Originally from Herefordshire we fell in love with this beautiful area and it's lovely people on a visit and purchased a holiday home here. Within a year we had relocated permanently.

We have recently bought a second property in the Lot which we are currently renovating.

Notes:
The house has air conditioning and is provided with HD TV and DVD player. There are plenty of games and books available for everybody. The Farmhouse is close to Lauzerte and Moissac and is within easy reach of Cahors and the Gorges of Averyon. Activities include kayaking at the Gorges, wine tasting in the Lot. Golf, tennis, horse riding and paint balling are available locally. For the children in nearby Lafrancaise there is a large open air swimming pool with water slide, lake with pedalos and fishing as well and quad biking and moto-cross (6-12 year olds). The area is renowned for walkers as Lauzerte is on the famous pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostella.

A lovely relaxing and comfortable holiday with family and friends

Blasi Farmhouse is perfectly positioned in a quiet rural location with fabulous views over the valley while having shops and restaurants within easy driving distance.

The house itself is fully equipped and comfortable and both Alison and Robert are charming and helpful.

We first stayed at Blasi in 2017 for 1 week and enjoyed it so much we booked for 3 weeks in 2018 and will certainly return again.

Great location, stunning views!

We booked Blasi for 2 weeks in August 2018 and it was ideal for our group which was extended family for one week and then two families for the second.

The property is beautifully situated with great views across the valley, a lovely and secure pool area, and all the space and facilities you need for spending all your time outside.

Inside has been thoughtfully converted with 2 kitchens and lounge areas and always feels spacious even for a large group. It is also exceptionally well stocked not only with what is needed such as crockery and linen, but also books, games, childrens toys, MP3 speakers etc.

It should be noted that the 2 downstairs bedrooms have air conditioning, but the 2 upstairs bedrooms do not. We were 2 families sharing the property, so one family was upstairs and one family was downstairs (so we were next to our kids).

There were several standing fans upstairs and clear instructions on how to keep the house cool, but it did get very warm upstairs in the evening. It was a very hot week to be fair. The one improvement to the property would be additional aircon units in the upstairs bedrooms.

Lauzerte is beautiful and only 10 mins away with a good supermarket and local shops.

You have a good choice of larger towns within 30 mins (e.g. Moissac and Cahors) for anything else you could think of, and quick acces to the motoroway network for any longer journeys.

There was no shortage of things to do in the local area and Robert and Alison have provided a personalised local guide with recommendations. They also were very helpful with any queries or questions while we were there.

An excellent venue for a relaxing and fun family holiday but also as base for day trips to the surrounding towns, with plenty of interest to see.

I’m sure we will return again one day soon!

A great Christmas holiday with family

Our family in France joined us at Blasi for Christmas. The owners were very helpful and considerate including putting up a Christmas tree with decorations as well as other decorations. There was plenty of space and rooms etc for everyone. The heating and log fire worked well and kept us warm when it became chilly on a few occasions. As expected supermarkets were open on Christmas Eve, early Boxing Day but not on New Years Day. Lauzerte and Moissac were quiet but Cahors had more shops and restaurants open.

So we had a really good time at Blasi. A really tranquil spot not too far from the main towns and villages. We also managed a few good walks as well as playing outside with the grandchildren. There was always the satellite TV and DVD player to keep youngsters (and adults) entertained. While most will come in the spring and summer I would recommend Blasi in the winter. The historic sites and medieval towns and villages are still worth visiting at this time of the year. The owners helpfulness also made the stay so much easier and nicer

Fantastic location, immaculate well equipped house

This is the second time we have visited Blasi for a holiday, once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Located 10 minutes from Lauzerte and 30 minutes from Moissac it is a great location for venturing out to find what the area has to offer, markets (daytime and evening), towns, walking, riding, canoeing etc. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, quiet and tranquil, with its panoramic views the night skies are amazing. The pool gives welcome relief to cool off, and is a great size to swim, play and safe for children of all ages. The property has been carefully renovated keeping all of its country charm whilst at the same time being very well thought out and superbly equipped, we visited with family, young and old and everyone was very well accommodated. Rob and Alison were the perfect hosts!

Fabulous

Beautiful rural setting, well equipped

We stayed in this property for two weeks at the end of May. We were a group of 4 (two couples), all in our thirties. We were a little worried we would have perhaps expected too much, but Blasi more than lived up to the pics! The house is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by rolling fields and wooded areas. There are a couple of houses close by but shielded enough that it feels very private. One of the neighbours dogs came to visit us most days, she was very friendly and docile so this was fine for us. The house itself is great - lots of space so that the 4 of us never felt crowded, cosy enough that we could all hang out together in comfort. It is extremely well equipped, particularly the kitchens - there are actually two, we mostly used the main one (open plan to the living room), but were able to find a number of useful things in the second. The two downstairs bedrooms are lovely. One is a fair bit bigger than the other but both are a decent size. Myself and my 6' 5" partner stayed in the smaller and were very comfortable. The shower rooms are also very nice, with great water pressure. We also really liked that the toilets are adjacent to but separate from the shower rooms. The terrace was fantastic, we had almost all of our meals out there, and spent most evenings relaxing out there with some beers or wine. The pool was also great, very well maintained. The nearest town is a drive away, so a car is essential. We loved it and would definitely return!

The property is situated in open countryside in a small hamlet between Miramont de Quercy and Lauzerte , midway between Agen and Cahors. With vineyards, orchards and woodland it is a truly beautiful spot.

It is within easy reach of the Lot and Gorges of Averyon. Nearby Lauzerte is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is also a stopping place on the famous pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostella.

Only 10 minutes away from the Lot, wine tasting is easy and fun.

Although inland there are sandy beaches and water slides at the nearby parc de loisir at Montcuq and Miramont de Quercy which also have superb markets.

Golf: Near by there is 9 hole golf course at Sauveterre, of 5244 metres in a wooded valley with water hazards and it is suitable for players of all standards. The owner is very friendly and clubs can be hired for the day. It also has a good restaurant for those who prefer to watch rather than play.

Pres de la nature. A Blasi vous pourrez contempler le ciel qui est un du plus obscur de toute l'Europe de l'ouest. Aout est incroyable avec les étoiles filantes, le ciel est clair et étoilé et la voie lactée est très facile à voir. La vie sauvage est grande et intéressante.
