perfect place for family time

Booking for next year now - family loved it - expensive but hey ho. Location is perfect for us and the new fencing means security for baby and dog.

Relaxing

Arrived on the Sunday for 7 days. Very relaxing close to the beach and great walks for the dog. Garden secure and nice decking area. Plenty of space for him to run around. Supermarket close buy.

Relatable

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay ,we wanted somewhere to relax and we got it, we had people walking past the front of the house but that was expected, there was no were to errect the sun parasol,

We found the door handle on the double room upstairs faulty, this could be a issue if the door is closed, also the step on the corridor going to the bottom room could have a trip warning,

Overall good

Thank you

This is a cosy cottage in a wonderful position, and within walking distance of Bude, which is an unpretentious seaside resort. Kitchen well equipped.

The Nook

  • 4 of 5

I booked The Nook purely on location as we have a poorly dog who can’t go far now. What a great place. Really well equipped although bedrooms tiny! The fabulous location and the lovely ‘Margaret’ at the Rustic Tea Garden just up the lane made our week fun and relaxing. Will definitely return.

All we had hoped for and more!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over the coldest days of March on record with snow, thick ice and gales! So to be welcomed by a warm centrally heated cottage with log fire was perfect. The weather kept most people away so we could enjoy walking (or being blown along) the magnificent beaches. The facilities were fine for the three of us with a very good shower in the main bathroom. The cold weather brought flocks of birds to the shore which was another bonus (except forgot to take our bird guide book). A most memorable break.

Location

The Nook is situated on Northcott Mouth and is approximately a 5 minute drive north of Bude. Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path.

The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes as well as other events throughout the season, including an annual Carnival Week. The town has a host of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and there is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children's play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.

Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland with its very own shipwreck! Also well worth a visit is the world famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port.
