The apartment is situated in the “Golden Quarter” of Barcelona, one of the best areas of the modernist district of the Eixample. It is near to the most exclusive and famous brand-name stores, excellent restaurants, cinemas, theaters and gourmet supermarkets. Paseo de Gracia, Barcelona’s number one street for shopping and architecture, is just a 10-minute walk away. It’s also within walking distance of architectural gems such as Gaudi’s Casa Battló, La Pedrera and other famous houses like the Casa Amatller by Puig i Cadafalch or the Casa Lleó Morera by Domenech i Montaner.

The apartment’s spacious 50 m2 terrace looks out onto an exclusive interior urban garden – a slice of nature in an otherwise bustling neighborhood. The high ceilings and bright rooms offer a calming and spacious atmosphere. Here you can dine al fresco and enjoy the tranquility of an urban oasis.

The apartment boasts 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are double and 1 twin. From the master bedroom you can reach the terrace with tree views from the garden next door, which offers a sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to find in the center of the city. There is a spacious full bathroom and a half bath (toilet and sink).

The living area opens up onto a large, exclusive flowery terrace with views of the interior patio and garden, children’s play area and southern sunlight.

The kitchen has top of the line luxury appliances (Miele brand) and is complete with dishwasher, stainless steel fridge, microwave, oven, coffee pot, toaster and cooking utensils. There is also a laundry room with washing machine and dryer.

Architecturally speaking, the apartment has conserved the original aspects since its original 19th Century construction, complete with wooden carpentry and vaulted and molded ceilings. The natural light and the tranquility of the apartment cannot be understated. Without a doubt it is a unique place to enjoy a happy vacation.

It has hardwood flooring throughout, located on the 1st floor and is insulated from street noise. All linens and towels are high-quality cotton.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Although perfectly located for enjoying Barcelona, the neighborhood maintains its local atmosphere with the newly renovated Paseo Sant Joan, where you will see the area comes alive with café terraces, urban playgrounds, local grocery and flower shops, pharmacies and bakeries.

If shopping is what you are interested in, Paseo de Gracia and Portal d’Angel can be found just off of Plaza Catalunya, a 10-minute walk. In between these famous shopping streets is the Corte Ingles department store where you can find a gourmet supermarket.

It is easy to get around the city right from the doorstep as public transport is efficient and ideally located next to the apartment. If you want to take a day trip via car to one of the luxurious beaches on the Costa Brava, you can be on the road within minutes thanks to the superbly designed highway system that surrounds Barcelona.

GETTING AROUND

Within 10-minutes’ walking you can be in Plaza Catalunya where you will find public transport to any spot in the city, such as the MNAC and Montjuic, as well as the bus to the airport or the Barcelona Tourist Bus. 10-minutes in the other direction will take you to the Arc de Triomf, and you will find the city’s Parc de la Ciutadella, ideal for a leisurely stroll or exercise. The Barcelona Zoo is inside the park, and just to the side is the bohemian Born neighborhood famous for artists, bars and restaurants. The Picasso museum and Palau Guell are both located within walking distance.

Nearby bus lines: 0-56-7-54-51-19 (Gran Via de les Cortes Catalanes).

Nearby metro stations: Yellow line L4 (Girona station) Purple Line L2 (Tetuan Station). Both situated 2-minutes’ walk away.

HOUSE RULES

SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE INSIDE THE FLAT. But please feel free to use the terrace to do so.

SILENCE: It's a very quiet neighborhood and building, so after 11:00 pm things should be calmed down so we don't disturb the neighbors. The terrace cannot be used for gatherings after 10:00 pm.

As this is a residential building it is important to respect the neighbors. The locals are going about their daily lives and request a quiet and calm environment.

LATE CHECK-INS:

There is a surcharge of 30 euros for check-ins between 9:00 pm and 12:00 am. Check-ins after 12:00 am have a surcharge of 50 euros.

I would stay at this charming apartment again if I return to Barcelona. Jorge graciously met us upon arrival and oriented us to the apartment and area. We appreciated the refrigerator being stocked with juice, coffee, toast and wine. The unit includes washer AND dryer. The appliances worked. The water pressure was good. Close to tapas bars and restaurants. Walking distance to markets and shopping.

Perfect location!!

My wife and I really enjoyed our week at the apartment. It came as advertised, clean,well kept and equipped. Terrace was very nice feature. Best though was the location: an easy walk to the central sights and shopping districts. The perfect base camp to explore a wonderful city. Jorge and Daniel were a delight to deal with and all the logistics were perfectly smooth. Great hosts. Don’t forget to ask them for their tapas bar recommendations!! They pointed us to some great local spots just around the corner.

Superb location. Large, spacious, air conditioning, nice patio/terrace overlooking park. Jorge was on time and very, very nice, friendly, and informative. Toilet in master bathroom was loose(not bolted to floor very well), hot water handle on sink would not move/stuck. Hot water in 2nd bathroom had very poor pressure and temperature fluctuated a lot. Following rain, the security door going out to the patio/terrace would not close enough to lock. Pot to heat water for instant coffee knocked out the electricity/threw breaker. Loved nearby bar called Limericks. Discovered Malpaso Mexican restaurant last night there, but didn't have time to try it. Two restaurants west of apartment took so long to wait on us that we walked out of both(different nights).

Overall a really good value. However, after staying in the Majestic Hotel two previous times, I would go back to the hotel if returning to Barcelona. I tried to save money on accomodations in order to help offset flying first class. Although this apartment was quite nice, it seemed like we had an issue with almost every place we rented. But the last time we stayed at the Majestic Hotel, we had a very loud and large group of people from Holland partying until 4AM. Nothings perfect or fool proof.

We haven’t had any other guests say anything about the water pressure/temperature but we will also take a look. Regarding your experience with waiting for tables at restaurants in the area this is due to the popularity of the neighborhood! The location is fabulous and it is where people want to be. We would recommend making reservations in advance or going as early as possible to guarantee a table. As for your experience at the Majestic Hotel we can’t comment on this as it is a fancy 5* hotel and not an apartment, it is a totally different type of accommodation and style and it is not relevant to your stay with us. We hope to accommodate you again on your next stay in Barcelona! You were very nice guests!

It's all about the neighborhood and the terrace.

Our group of four adults had a great stay at this apartment. The apartment is spacious, clean, bright, and well equipped. Yes, as noted in another review, there is no permanent door on one of the bedrooms, but it is located at the end of a hall giving it privacy, and there is a door between that hall and the living area. The Eixample location was within walking distance of many Barcelona sites, including Sangrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia with Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, the zoo, and El Born. The truly great thing about the location was the sense of neighborhood you would not get in the more touristy areas. We loved eating like and with locals, nearby at Rosie's and Luigi's.

Jorge was prompt in all interactions and helpful upon meeting us at the apartment to acquaint us with the appliances and make market and restaurant recommendations. The orange juice, milk and wine in the refrigerator where a great welcome. The terrace was the deal breaker for us. It was wonderful to sit outside with our morning coffee and evening cocktail. We loved 'our' Barcelona apartment and hope to return.
