The 6 apartments are built into the south facing wing of a 17th century Italian Villa and 400 acre working arable farm called Palazzo Rosso (the Red Palace). The 400 year old building has just been completely and lovingly restored, retaining all original features, beams, solid stone walls, fireplaces etc. There is a 300 square metre 10 metre high beamed barn for guest use, paved with local stone. A 13.5x6 metre pool was installed in the spring 2008. There are extensive gardens for guests on both sides of the building, as well as an orchard and courtyard animals (horse, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits and dogs).
The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.
Places to visit: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called Lumignano. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.
Further afield: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away
More Information about the property: The apartments can all be rented separately or together for larger groups.

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
The apartment was very comfortable, perfect for a family with small children. The satellite TV, DVD player & stereo made life easier when it rained. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of great places to go out for dinner, the Italians all take their children out with them which was a nice change and made our evenings much more enjoyable.
There were lots of places to go and visit close by, we stayed for nearly two weeks and still didn't get to see everything.
We had a great time staying over new year, we even joined in a local new years party which was great fun.
looking forward to coming back soon.

We enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Rosso very much. It is the perfect holiday location. You can easily reach Vicenza, Verona, Padua, Venice and other lovely towns from here. You can use the bikes provided, go for a walk in the hills or just relax at the spacious pool.
The apartment is nicely furnished and the kitchen is very usable. All shared spaces (the pool, the barn, the common rooms) are also very well kept and equipped with BBQ area, games, etc. Phil and Silvy are great hosts, very friendly and extremely helpful. Everything is as wonderful as the pictures are promising. We can thoroughly recommend this property to everyone.
Thank you, Phil and Silvy, for a great stay!
Palazzo Rosso Apartments is a beautifully renovated service wing of the old palazzo with an arcaded ground floor terrace where the guests can sit, eat, and enjoy the company or just the view of the mountains in the background. We found our apartment impeccably clean and the fully equipped kitchen allows you to choose between a home-made meal or to explore the many restaurants in the vicinity. Our hosts, Silvy and Phil, were extremely kind and helpful and also able to advice on the multitudes of attractions in and around the area. We spent delightful days at Palazzo Rosso and can only warmly recommend the place.

This was our 3rd stay at Palazzo Rosso, and yet again, we had a great holiday! Hosts Phil and Silvy are just fabulous, they go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience whilst based with them! Excellent suggestions of where to visit, the daily fresh eggs and grapes and the best wine cellar this side of Padova! As well as revisiting some wonderful places, we also found lots of new and interesting places. As ever, would recommend to anyone who is thinking of visiting the Vicenza, Venice, Veneto area.
Great place to stay. Good sized apartment, clean and well furnished. Hosts are great - full of tips and advice. Location is great for touring Veneto. Within an hour you have got Venice, Verona, Lake Garda and the mountains. Also Vicenza is a hidden gem. Palazzo Rosso is also brilliant if you just want to relax with good sized pool. Great to eat out on the terrace at night. Use of BBQ was a bonus. You do need a car.
My family stayed at Plazzo Rosso for a week in September 2014. The farm was relaxed and quiet. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. The outdoor pool was lovely to relax by and the courtyard outside the apartments was great for chilling out after a days sight seeing.
Silvy and Phil were both friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome.
The apartment was comfortable for the four of us and had everything we needed.
I would highly recommend Plazzo Rosso, we had a great time staying here.
The place was exactly as described, very nice place to stay in or as a base to make visits in a wonderful area (Verona, Venezia, Padova, lake Garda ...). Sylvi and phil welcome you with a thick guide to interesting places and their best spots to eat, everything is aimed to make things comfortable and easy, cycles, pool, baby-foot. We really enjoyed our stay.
The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms).
There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit.
Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm.
Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil prooducer.
Other Activities: Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the 400 metre high Colli Berici hills
