About Philip Frankland

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.

Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991

Why Philip Frankland chose Vicenza Area

We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The apartment was very comfortable, perfect for a family with small children. The satellite TV, DVD player & stereo made life easier when it rained. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of great places to go out for dinner, the Italians all take their children out with them which was a nice change and made our evenings much more enjoyable.

There were lots of places to go and visit close by, we stayed for nearly two weeks and still didn't get to see everything.

We had a great time staying over new year, we even joined in a local new years party which was great fun.

looking forward to coming back soon.

Henry, Caroline, Sarah & Freya Iddon. Blackpool, England.

Comfortable, nice showers, enough towels, good beds, very complete kitchen.

Nice surroundings, beautiful hills, well located to the A4 highway.

We like the fire outside.

You've been very helpful and kind.

We like the fresh eggs !!

A Taste of True Italian Hospitality.......

  • 5 of 5

It is very hard to summarise my stay at Palazzo Rossa Farm as there were so many wonderful facets to it. From the warm welcome of our hosts Phil and Silvie (who go over and above what is expected to ensure happy visitors) to the beautiful backdrop of the hills surrounding the farm, the lovingly renovated building that housed our apartment, the plethora of flora and fauna (dogs, pigs, donkeys, horses, chickens, sheep - sorry if I forgot anyone!), the singing of the cicadas, the stunning sun sets and the glorious facilities available to us - everything that any young or old family/couple would need to make their holiday complete. I only hope to return soon to drink of its goodness. Thanks Phil and Silvie for making it one to remember!

A relaxing time in this beautifully restored barn with a great personal welcome from the owners

  • 5 of 5

Like some of of the other guests, this was a return visit for us. The apartments are in a beautifully restored barn, with a great pool and gardens. Phil and Silvi are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble. It is well located for lots of day trips, and perfect for relaxing in the sun. A great holiday escape, we can't recommend it highly enough.

One of the best places I stayed at

  • 5 of 5

A pleasant house in a great location.

The apartment was very nice and in addition to it the children used the pool and the great playing room and took the free bicycles that are at the place and travel around.

The place is located few minutes from the highway with an easy access to Venice , Verona etc. But it is steel in a nice and rural area.

The hosts help us with all that was needed and gave us a lot of helpful information about the area.

To summarize , highly commanded.
