We live on a farm handed down from my father and mother. It has streams, caves, birds, deer and many other types of wildlife.
We live at the end of the road surrounded by our land so it is very peaceful.
We are just 15 minutes from Cookeville where there are restaurants, theaters and big city services.
Come by and relax!
Walk in the woods alone. Watch a stream, observe the night sky, and the owls yeah the owls! You will hear some big old owls raisin cane in the night!
Our second stay was even better than the first. Dan and Joann have a beautiful property. For a short Tennessee get away, I can't recommend this spot enough! We will definitely stay again.
Words can't express how much I enjoyed my stay at this property. I came her to do a very important work project and the setting was more than I hoped for. Not only was it quiet and inspiring with rolling meadows but there were horses and puppies that put it over the top! I even brought my 12 year old black lab and he enjoyed it as much as I did. The cabin itself was very clean. Dan and JoAnn are the perfect hosts and made me feel more than welcome. They were around if I needed anything at any time, but let me have the privacy I really needed to get my job done. Also while it is in a beautiful country setting, nice restaurants are only 30 minutes away. So whether you are looking for a place to relax or to work, I highly recommend this property.
We stayed in the newly built Red Mule Lodge and absolutely loved everything about it! When we arrived we were created by Dan and 3 beautiful English shepherds. Dan was so hospitable, showing us around the lodge. We had so many favorite parts from the stained glass, tin roof, hospitality, but our all time favorite was the large screened in porch. We sat out there for hours after we arrived in the evening, lit the candles that Joann has put there and listed to Gods great symphony of the great outdoors. To top it off lightening bugs were out, making the evening even better. Dan and Joann have a little slice of heaven on earth, I highly recommend staying with them!
We had an amazing time in Tennessee with Dan and Joann. They are so warm and authentic. They were the hostess (and host) with the mostest. They helped us with anything we asked of them and they did so graciously. They entertained us by playing their guitars and singing. The dogs took me for a lovely walk on the property and made sure that I did not get lost. Helping ourselves to the garden was an extra added bonus. The kale was so fresh and tender that I even enjoyed a bit on a sandwich. We look forward to seeing them again and wish them luck with the new additional cabin so they may spread their peaceful lifestyle with many others who need to get a break from "the real world". I much preferred their peaceful world and know it is a place that anyone would be luck to call home even if only for a few days.
This adorable little cabin is the perfect weekend getaway. The porch looks like a fairytale cottage. I loved sitting outside and watching the birds while the sun was coming up.
The property was beautiful. The three dogs showed us the way through the woods. There was a beautiful area with a creek and a large cave. It was a nice, easy hike. The property was just down the road from Burgess falls and a Wal-Mart was also close by. Great location and hospitality. Highly reccomend.
I'm so glad we found this charming tiny house. We came to Sparta for a wedding. Luckily, we had an hour to hike to the falls in the afternoon. We weren't sure which way to go, but Mama Dog showed us the way. When we got back to the house after the wedding, Dan and Joann joined us on the patio for a guitar concert. The pot-bellied stove warmed up the chilly night. Such a delight! We had to leave early the next morning, but I took a quick walk back to the falls with the dogs. I wish we'd had more time to spend at the tiny house. Thanks, Dan and Joann, for being such good hosts. We hope to come back!
