This beautiful cottage is located on Chapel Terrace behind the Victory Inn in St Mawes. To reach the cottage from the bottom of the village, there is either a combination of 28 steps with some short inclines (all with handle rail) or a short but steep hill. It takes just a couple of minutes to reach the harbour but a few minutes longer to climb back up. The elevated position provides the most wonderful views from the front garden. The open plan living room with raised kitchen diner to the rear provides a seaview and is beautifully presented having undergone a major refurbishment through the latter half of 2015. The patio garden to the front of the property is a sun trap with a glorious vista and the cottage benefits from a small private garden to the rear of the property.
St Mawes is simply an idyllic spot for a holiday. It is perfect for those who want to get out on the water or explore the stunning coastline or the Roseland Peninsula. There are two shingle beaches in St Mawes or some lovely sandy beaches on the St Anthony headland. Staying in St Mawes you would not need your car all week. Everything is within walking distance and the passenger ferries provide regular services around the estuary from the delightful harbour.
Ground Floor: Small entrance porch leads into open plan living room / kitchen / dining area. Living area has comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove. The raised kitchen / dining area to the rear has fully fitted units and a door to the small rear garden. There is a small understairs WC and hand basin.
First Floor: Master bedroom with 5' double bed and sea view, twin bedroom with rear door to the garden. Bathroom with overhead shower, basin and WC.
Exterior: Enclosed front garden table and chairs and sea view. Private rear garden up some steps with further table and chairs, parasol and a selection of sun beds.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via gas central heating (LPG bottles), there is also a wood burning stove. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is an electric oven and hob. There is a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge / freezer and dishwasher: Also a washing machine / dryer. The sitting room area has a flatscreen digital TV & DVD player which can be used for CDs and radio. Unlimited WiFi is available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board. A high chair is available on request.
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. Regrettably no dogs are allowed. Whilst you can stop and unload outside the property, there is no parking available on the street. Parking is available in the main car park (very safe) and weekly/daily tickets are available from the pay and display machine.
