Paradise found.

From the moment we pulled up in the car outside Whim cottage we new we had found a little gem !

Its tucked away in a quiet spot away from the hustle & bustle & a great place to get away from it all.

We opened the front door into a fair sized kitchen/diner/lounge area. The cottage was spotlessly clean & tidy.

There were 3 large bed rooms ,1 on the ground floor en suit that was ideal for my 87 year old mother-in-law.

Upstairs there were 2 large bedrooms & a family bathroom that were that were beautiful.

There was also a nice garden at the back with a seating area which was perfect for eating or just supping on a glass of wine in the evening.

It was only a short walk to the river which was stunning & only a 15 minute walk to either of the local pubs.

We ate at the Lemon arms most evenings. The food was excellent & good value.

The other pub, The Pandora Inn is a must. The food is a little more expensive but it is one of the best pub meals we have ever had & in the most amazing location. There is very limited parking & we recommend you book a table.

All in all we would recommend whim cottage to anyone & we look forward to our next visit !

Fantastic cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay at this cottage, it is so good. It has all the equipment you could need, plenty of kitchen equipment etc. The garden is lovely and the double rooms are a great size. We had 6 adults and 1 large dog and did not feel crowded. Unlike some cottages there is enough comfortable seating in the sitting room for 6. We had visitors and the garden is great for a BBQ. It is a lovely location for walks along the edge of the Fall, and very conveniently located for lunch or tea at the Pandora Inn. Restronguet is off the beaten track but only a few minutes from Falmouth and all it’s facilities.

Perfect stay!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived to the time we left everything was fantastic! It truly was a home from home experience, there wasn’t anything the cottage didn’t provide. None of us wanted to leave & we will definitely be coming back.

The location was fab, lots of walks around & we took advantage of the local pub, the pandora! Well worth a visit.

It was nice to see the photos of the cottage being developed and to see the hard work put in.

Thank you to the owners for providing such an amazing place.

Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights. The communications before hand were good and upon arrival the cottage was in immaculate condition. It's a lovely homely place close to shops etc. All in all a great place and i'd highly recommend staying here, i would again.

christmas holiday

  • 5 of 5

Absolute great place in an idyllic location. the house was beautiful, the log burner fire worked extremely well with the underfloor heating system. There's always plenty of hot water and the showers were excellent, we cooked a fabulous Christmas dinner the house had everything you would need. The walks around that area were fantastic with sea views. Our dog Stella enjoyed walking over the road to see the larmer's every morning. The walk to the Pandora Inn across the private beach is always rewarding with excellent food and local beers.

Location

Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of it's unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. You can enjoy these events on foot from this marina based apartment.

As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. This is a great property for parents wishing to visit their children as the Tremough campus is just a short drive away.

The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and Rick Stein has his Fish Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.
