About the property

Roof Tops - a barn conversion that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Roof Tops has been developed by the Owners who live next door. This superb conversion has been completed to the highest of standards and features reverse style accommodation with the living room / kitchen area on the first floor to take advantage of the character of the old beams and the stunning views over the countryside to Widemouth. The Owners have converted Roof Tops with great attention to detail with wood flooring and granite work tops in the kitchen and en-suite shower rooms for both bedrooms. There is a cosy gas powered stove for the colder months. There is a great patio and a private garden area with a small lawned area. Both bedrooms have french windows opening onto the slate tiled patio.

Roof Tops is situated on the edge of the village of Stratton, a really peaceful location with countryside all around. Stratton has 2 local pubs serving excellent food and a post office, all within 5 minutes walk of the property. The village is just over one mile from the coastal town of Bude with extensive sandy beaches, sea swimming pool, leisure centre, surfing and a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a range of golf courses in the vicinity. Stratton is a great base from which to explore many of Cornwall and Devon's attractions.

Ground Floor: Master bedroom with king sized bed, large wardrobe and large en suite shower room. Second bedroom with zip & link beds which can be set out either as a 6' double or as twin beds. It has an en suite bathroom with over bath shower.

First Floor: Open plan living / dining / kitchen area. There is a smart TV and bluetooth speaker in the lounge. Cosy gas fired wood burning stove. Please note that there are steps up to the first floor from the outside and also internal stairs with a stair gate.

Exterior: Enclosed fenced garden with slate patio and lawned area. Exterior furniture and Charcoal BBQ (please provide your own charcoal).

There is an electric oven and induction hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The sitting room area and both bedrooms have flatscreen digital TVs. There is WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board.

Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Way beyond expectations

Roof tops has been converted to an extremely high standard, everything for a relaxing getaway is on hand from the property to the location. We could not have asked for more but if required all we had to do was ask.

Excellent barn conversion

  • 5 of 5

Such a super place to stay. It was so clean and fresh. We found it to be lovely and warm, with a fabulous log effect fire that was easily lit.

Really good kitchen appliances which made cooking in, a pleasure. It was just a shame that we never got to sit outside on the lovely patio, as the weather didn’t let us.

Super views across open fields and very peaceful.

Relaxing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Rooftops is well situated in a quiet small village just outside Bude, excellent facilities and the best shower we have ever had.

Hosts were on hand to meet and great and we were treated to scones with local cream and jam.

Undisturbed sleep with lists of local walks.

We have just returned from our stay at Roof Tops and we couldn't of asked for more.

It was clean, tidy, comfortable and very well equipped, Cream on arrival was a great touch.

Credit to Vicky and Jason for converting Roof Tops into a first class holiday accommodation.

I stayed at rooftops for 10nights it is beautiful, the views are amazing. The rooftop has everything you need for a perfect break, microwave, cooker, toaster, kettle, TV in bedrooms aswell as the living room. Your own en- suite, the beds are comfortable, also a hairdryer. The village is 5 minutes away which had a small shop post office, there's 2 bar's there which do lovely food. Vicky the owner of rooftops is a lovely lady & very helpful, on arrival there was scones, Jam & cream in the fridge. Which is a lovely thing to do.I will be going back and would highly recommend rooftops.

A fantastic holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Another great stay at Roof Tops. Has everything you need and is a real home from home. The barn is spotlessly clean and the cream tea on arrival with home made jam is an added bonus. Vicky and Jason are on hand to deal with any issues promptly ( the only issue being tripped electric ). Will definitely be returning.

Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path.

The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes as well as other events throughout the season, including an annual Carnival Week. The town has a host of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and there is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children's play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.

Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland with its very own shipwreck! Also well worth a visit is the world famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port.
