a bit chilly

  • 4 of 5

We always stay here and will be coming back in September. The view of the sea from lounge window can not be bettered!.

The only thing was, it was quite chilly on the April evenings. We will make sure we book end of May/June next year.

The bungalow by the sea

Home from home. Lovely and warm. Stayed in Aalsmeer about 10 times over the years and it never disappoints. When can we move in ?

My Home from Home

  • 5 of 5

I have been to Aaslmeer on several occasions, I try to get there at least one a year (vacancy allowing)

Every time I go the owner has done something to improve it and it is nice to see that they reinvest the money they make by letting it.

The view cannot be beaten so even in bad weather it is still a pleasure to be there, and it is always warm thanks to the Aga.

It really feels like my own private holiday home, only wish it was! And my dog loves being so close to the beach, he has to go down at least once a day or he sits looking out of the window whining!

wonderfull views. warm and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely week here. The location is superb. You can visit loads of places within a few miles from here such as Padstow, Doc Martin location and many more. The food and the hospitality at the Bay View inn just up the road is great. We ate there every day. Waking up every morning with the sound of the waves, it's the most relaxing place to be. The new fitted kitchen is a bonus. We can not wait to return next year.

Wonderful location.

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Aalsmeer was very comfortable and enjoyable. The location was perfect for the beach, where our daughter, 11, enjoyed body boarding in the waves. You can learn to surf there too. There were excellent food places within walking and short drive distance. The property looks out over the sea, and although the furniture was a little dated, it was comfortable, spacious and had everything you needed. The only down side was the electric metre which requires old £1 coins which we had to specifically ask for in shops as they become more rare! Hopefully this will be updated very soon! Overall a very nice stay in a wonderful location.

Location

Widemouth Bay is a varied and interesting beach with a long open bay. At the northerly end of Widemouth there is a large sandy area that becomes more exposed as the tide drops and to either side of this the sand gives way to some fantastic rock formations. The beach is ideal for families, whether you wish to swim, sunbathe, surf or hunt for marine life in the hundreds of rock pools. Lifeguards are present during the season. These are some of the best beaches in Cornwall so don't miss the chance to try your surfing or 'boogie' boarding skils. There are a number of surf schools in the area.

For Walkers and Cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the South West coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area ia a nature lovers paradise. Bude is only a couple of minutes down the road and has the full range of facilities that one would expect of a small town including a wide range of shops, pubs & restaurant.
