About Bart and Elaine

Bart and Elaine had been vacationing East Shore Kootenay Lake for years with their three children. One of their dreams has been to live on Kootenay Lake. And this dream came true with their purchase of Two Bears Cabin in 2012. Most weekends when the cabin is not booked, it becomes Bart and Elaine's weekend cabin getaway. They take great pride in ensuring all guests walk into a pristine cabin to begin their Kootenay Lake adventures.

Bart and Elaine purchased this cabin in 2012

You will not find a more breathtaking cabin view of Kootenay Lake. The cedar trees, eagles, and natural beauty is second to none. Past guests have shared that sitting on the living room sectional couch is like having your own personal IMAX theatre of nature during all seasons.

Beautiful cabin at a beautiful location.

We had a fantastic week at Two Bears Cabin enjoying the lake, large deck, sauna, and forest trails. This is a great vacation property -- the owners have all the details covered.

Our favourite place to relax!

  • 5 of 5

Our entire experience was so relaxing with our correspondence being so pleasant and seamless with Bart and Elaine. Highlights of our many stays at 2 bears have been; a beautiful and well appointed cabin, gorgeous view of (and kayaking) Kooteney Lake, peaceful surroundings and hiking Pilot Bay provincial park trail. Other side trips took us to Ainsworth hot springs and Riondel where we played golf and hiked down to Pebble Beach.

Thanks Bart and Elaine!!

Beautiful, Serene and complete Tranquility!

  • 5 of 5

It was a little hard to find as we didn't receive the cabins number address in the access instructions. But, we did call Bart for the address and clear driving instructions and he was most helpful. It wasn't too difficult to locate after that, so it was appreciated that we could get those instructions immediately.

Upon arrival we discovered that the 2 Bears Cabin is on a very large parcel of land with about 8 or so other similar cabins. So, even though we thought we would be alone on a property, there were other guests around. This wasn't a negative thing, just something to be aware of. The Cabin is probably the most private of all on the property and you really do forget that there are others around. Fortunately, the renovation at a close by cabin only went on the first Sunday evening we arrived until about 8pm. It would have been very disappointing if that noise was something we'd have for the week we stayed (5 stars would have been 2), as the quiet and serenity were our main stay reasons.

Everything at the cabin was clean, very well appointed and easy to find. We cooked most of our meals there and the gas BBQ was great to have available. The BBQ was the only thing that wasn't cleaned, so it did require a really good scrubbing before we could cook our dinner the first evening.

The main deck is where we spent most of our time on loungers soaking in the sunshine and the amazing unobstructed lake and mountain views. It really was a treat to have stayed at this cabin and to have had such a beautiful week of sunshine! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect get-away location for time to unwind and seriously relax. Oh, and the fire pit was great as well! Perfect for sitting around in the evenings and sharing stories. You've really got a gem of a cabin and location Bart and Elaine! We appreciated sharing in the experience.

Perfect cabin getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is amazing. Bart and Elaine have a gem of a property. The views are amazing, the fire area is amazing, the decks are amazing, the cabin is amazing. There isn’t a single thing I would change. We brought almost everything we needed but it was nice to know everything was there if we forgot something. Comfy beds. Even the shower is wonderful. There’s a ton of brochures for things around the area as well which we appreciated. I wouldn’t change a single thing about this place. Bart and Elaine were super easy going and responded quickly anytime I had a question. Would rent again 10000%

The best vacation spot in Canada ever!!

  • 5 of 5

We have been at Two Bears cabin about 7 times now, maybe 8. It is hard to count with the amount of times we have been there, but each time we stay there it always amazes us with how it gets better.

The property is immaculate, sitting along a beautiful lake, Kootenay Lake, with the best view from their very large deck over looking gorgeous mountains and just the peacefulness of that beautiful mountain air.

The cabin itself is always clean and has every amenity possible. It has lots of rooms-beds, and what a view with the abundance of over sized windows over looking the lake. The kitchen is very comfortable to cook in on that rainy, peaceful day. We used the wood burning stove this last trip, it was very easy, and so cozy.

We cannot say enough about this place, but Bart and Elaine are the most easiest people to ever deal with. They work very hard to make this place of paradise the way it is. We live afar from this place, so we endure a long 12 hour drive to get here. But once we are here, this is our home for the days we stay here, and we treat it exactly like our own home.

We are arriving in June again, not one day passes that we don't think of our arrival of Two Bears Cabin! Thank you for letting us repeatedly use you're place Bart-Elaine, and like always.... Cheers!!

We stayed for two nights in late February, the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Everything about this place is breathtaking: the view, the sounds of the water on the rocks and the cabin is comfortable and tranquil.
