This is a duplex (sleeps four only, including adults and children) located near the end of a quiet street at mile marker 28, this home is surrounded by tropical views of crystal clear water. As you open the front door and step inside you scan the dining room, but then your attention turns to the open water view down the canal, and your stress seems to evaporate. You rush past the kitchen and through the tropically furnished living room, open the sliding glass door and step out onto the deck. There, you are greeted with mature coconut palm trees, a lovely view of the clear canal and a wonderful view straight down the canal to open water. Inhale...smell the salt air, feel the ocean breeze on your face and relax.
The canal is abundant with mangrove snapper and is perfect for swimming, snorkeling or kayaking. Fish right from the dock, which can accommodate a 20' - 22' boat (this is a shared dock) and comes with a fish cleaning table . Bring your boat or rent one. Rentals and charter boats are nearby for fishing, diving, or sightseeing. For the boaters, a full service marina including boat ramp, fuel and marine repair is conveniently located within the community.
The lovely furnished master bedroom opens up to the deck and has its own full bath. The second bedroom shares its full bathroom with the rest of the home. Both bedrooms are very quiet, with natural light and very comfortable king beds.
A grill is located on the deck, where a dining table for four is beckoning you to dine on your fresh catch. The deck also has two additional comfortable seats and two chaise lounges, to enjoy that well deserved cocktail after a day of having fun.
If you are looking to have wild loud parties, then this is NOT the house for you. This home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. But when you yearn for the craziness then head to Key West.
Key West is an easy drive, 25 minutes away, with scenic views of the ocean and bay. While the main drag, Duval Street, is full of T-shirt shops and some chain stores, look past them to see the real charm of Key West with its local artists studios, Bahamian architecture and vocal chickens which have the run of the island. Enjoy some world class cuisine. Be sure have your picture taken at the Southernmost Point in the US and then head down to Mallory Square for the sunset celebration. There you will find street performers, artisans plying their wares and food carts. There are many historical sites and museums to visit. Take a sunset cruise on a sailboat.
Need a beach fix? Bahia Honda State Park has one of the top rated beaches in the US, and it is only minutes away. The Key Deer National Wildlife Preserve is also nearby, where you can see the endangered Key Deer roaming.
The Little Torch area offers a taste of the Keys, with its laid back, quiet lifestyle. Although nearby are conveniences, such as, a major supermarket, hardware stores, tackle shops, restaurants and bars. Little Palm Island is a short ferry ride to a five star resort where you can indulge your senses.
A short boat ride away is Looe Key, a Federally protected marine sanctuary with dive sites rated as the best in the continental US.
Knowing we wanted to retire in Florida, we traveled up and down the east and west coasts of Florida. When we came to the Keys, our first stop was Key West, of course. Traveling north from Key West, we stopped on Little Torch Key, and I said 'this is where I am supposed to be.' I have never had that feeling about any other location in my life. So we purchased a property on the bay side of Little Torch Key. Our neighborhood is so quiet, you can hear a pin drop. If we want the craziness and madness, Key West is a short drive away.

We sold our Rehoboth Beach property recently and knew we wanted to invest the proceeds in a home on Little Torch Key. So in November of 2014, we purchased the Pirates house. We just loved the neighborhood, which is similar to ours, quiet, and the view! It just makes you smile.
Close to one of the top U.S. beaches(Bahia Honda), world class diving and snorkeling(Looe Key) and fishing (your entire back yard). Nearby are the conveniences of hardware stores, restaurants, bars. We can also provide some insiders tips on our favorite places to go.
Spent 2 weeks here over Christmas with my parents and really enjoyed it. The house was spotlessly clean and it had amazing views from the upper deck. The bedrooms were very comfy and loved everything about the house. Hubby had a go in the canoe and we made good use of the Bbq on the deck. Shops and restaurants were close by and so were several State Parks. Went to Key West 2 times and went up to The Everglades which was well worth it. House was in a lovely quiet safe area and people we saw were all kind and friendly. Owner was easy to contact and and entering and leaving the house was smooth and easy. I highly recommend this house to others as it's location is ideal. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
My family stayed a week at Pirates Getaway and loved it. It was great that you are only a short drive to several must adventures in the Keys. 10min to see Key Deer on Big Pine, 15 min to our new favorite place to eat "Square Grouper" Cudjoe Key, 25min to Bahia Honda State Park, and only 45min to Key West. The location is very quiet and offers quick access via boat or kayak to the Gulf or the Atlantic. The owners are very friendly and keep the house extremely clean. :)
Beautiful property in a convenient, quiet location. Everything is exactly as shown in the photos & the place is immaculate. The landlord answers questions in a timely manner. Down the road a few miles, you can get great meals @ "Morita's" (Cuban) & also "The Square Grouper". We made repeat trips to both restaurants. Be aware that quite a few restaurants in this area are closed on Sunday.
My wife and I loved our week on Little Torch Key and plan to return. This was our first time on Little Torch and we loved it. We were able to keep our boat in front of the house and there was room for the trailer and our car, making life very easy.
Looe Key snorkeling reef is directly offshore along with a small patch reef in front of Little Palm Island Resort. If you have a boat, it is easy to navigate out of the canal and harbor. We also shot down to the Bahia Honda Channel for a little Tarpon fishing and out on the reef for some Yellow Tail fishing.
The house was perfect for the two of us and we plan to return.

The owners have thought of everything from a fully stocked kitchen to the most comfy king beds. The cleanliness of the home was immaculate.
The view was spectacular and we really really enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the water move in and out of the canal. Although there were a number of storms and cooler weather in January we really loved being in the keys and all that was offered. We fished, kayaked and sightseeing trips when we could. The reference book the owners provided was a great reference guide. Thanks for a great start to our new chapter of retirement life in the keys!
The house and furnishing are excellent, very clean, well furnished! Great location on a canal, saw three manatees from the deck one day. King size beds with excellent mattresses made for very restful sleeping and lounging. Three TVs, all very good, with good selection of programs. Great location in terms of the Florida Keys, somewhat in the middle. Some days we traveled towards Key West and sometimes we traveled the opposite direction towards Key Largo. The entire reservation process, payment, and refund of deposit went very smoothly.
Highly recommend this house, will recommend to friends and hope to come back!

The Turtle Hospital, 21 miles from rental. A charitable corporation which rescues, rehabs and releases sea turtles in the Florida Keys. There is also a guided tour.
