My name is Brandon Mullenberg and this is unit Konea 103 at Honua Kai.

Located in the interior courtyard of the Konea tower at Honua Kai Resort is my premium 2 bedroom unit - Konea 103. It is a GROUND floor, two (2) bedroom, two (2) bathroom luxury condo. This unit is also one of only a handful of ground floor units at Honua Kai with a partial view of the ocean and is located very close to the pools and beach.. just walk out of the lanai to enjoy! (please see our room layout photo for the location of our condo).

Our condo, Honua Kai Unit # Konea 103 is a brand new super clean, large 1315 square foot (plus 700 sq ft Lanai/Garden) GROUND FLOOR hotel condominium. Just recently built in 2008, Honua Kai condo's and the resort offers many wonderful modern amenities. And just when you could not ask for more, many extra personal touches from a proud owner are visible in the condo such as iHome alarm clocks, upgraded tv in living, keyed lanai, bathroom dryer rack, bathroom stools, and many other owner supplied goodies for your use such as beach chairs, a beach umbrella, an ice chest, boogie boards, beach towels, a pack n play, bed bumpers, strap on booster seat, etc.

The family friendly Ground Floor units include many bonuses not offered on any of the floors above. Extra tall 11' ceilings, oversized lanai's, and very quick and easy access in and out (from the Lanai or condo door) ... no elevators needed. The lanai opens up to the a lush garden area, pathways down to the pools, and views of the resort and ocean.

With a king Bed with luxurious linens in both the master and second bedroom and a Queen sofa sleeper in living, the condo is a perfectly comfortable fit for up to 6 adults. Each bedroom and living have their own HD flat screen TV's and cable. In addition, the living room features a wall mounted 65" 4k smart TV and a Blu-Ray DVD player. Wireless AC Fast Internet is also included free of charge.

I grew up and we currently live in Seattle, WA. My wife grew up in the Czech Republic. We have 3 little ones. A handsome 6 year old boy, a beautiful 5 year old girl, and our youngest boy is 2 years old. Our favorite getaway spot is Maui and Honua Kai.

Why Brandon Mullenberg chose Maui

We love Maui and after staying at Honua Kai Resort for the first time in 2009, we fell in love with this place. It was perfect for us. We have always struggled to find a nice condo with all the amenities we were looking for. Honua Kai Resort was the answer for us and that was what initially brought me to purchase my first condo at Honua Kai. Since then I have purchased 5 more ground floor units and now have 6. In my opinion ground floor units are the most convenient and the absolute best. They have quick and easy access to the outside, the pool, and everything else. We just love this place.

Perfect Maui Getaway location

The overall experience from the initial booking, location, condo (including the owner) and departure was nothing short of first class. The Konea property was a perfect location for my family of five. I have three children ranging from 13-8, and the condo was a perfect fit. It comes with beach accessories (chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear) and pool toys so the family is ready to hit the water from the minute of arrival. The location of the unit on the property is a perfect spot so that the family can walk straight off the lanai onto the grounds directly to the pool, beach or front lobby of the hotel. Prior to arrival, Brandon (owner) provides a booklet with all the information you need on references of local activities, shopping and instructions for all the appliances located within the unit. The information provided was a life saver and enabled us to pre-book many activities prior to our arrival. Our local contact was nothing short of fantastic! Was a very nice touch knowing that we had a "go-to" person just in case of any emergency or needed any extra local recommendations. The unit itself is well kept, spacious, has newer appliances, and well stocked with all the essentials you will need. Dukes is located right on the property which was very convenient, and the local more well-known grocery stores were less than a ten minute drive from the property. For families with children the beach located directly off the property will not work (very rough water) but less than a ten minute walk down the beach access trail are nice white beaches with calmer tides. You can also take a 15 minute drive for beaches more appropriate for younger children. Overall a very enjoyable experience for our family, and we met several other families from the property that have been coming to the same location for several years. I know we will be staying at Brandon's property again the next time we are fortunate enough to visit Maui!

Our Gold Medal Vacation on Maui

This was a very comfortable stay for my wife and 3 sons...Rio might have been fun, but we truly enjoyed a GOLD medal vacation in Maui! As many families waited for elevators to access the upper floor rooms, we realized how lucky we were having the exit on the lanai to come & go freely. Being steps from the pools, short walk to the beach, Dukes restaurant & underground parking garage made this unit a perfect location.

Our brief orientation with Monte was helpful and the lobby staff was responsive getting our bags and food moved in (minimal downtime on arrival). We stocked the kitchen for the week, grilled often and enjoyed the convenience at Safeway and Times market across the street for extra items needed late in the week. Our kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for family meals. At the end of the day, no one had to share the remote having TV's in each room and the internet access to stay connected worked great. The backpack beach chairs were perfect to watch evening sunsets and we enjoyed the comfortable setting on the Lanai to lounge late in the evenings. Planning family activities with the concierge staff was very helpful and we enjoyed a full week of fun! It was a memorable week for our family and this property was first class!

Great unit, host, and owner!

Brandon was very pleasant and professional throughout the reservation process. The on-site host Monty was a refreshing welcome at the resort. Our unit size was ideal for our family of 6 and the ground unit was especially comfortable and safe for our toddler and infant. The unit was pre-stocked well for washing, cooking, or just heading to the beach. The pool and landscaping staff were all friendly and helpful. The entire pool area is quite slippery when wet...not fun while carrying a baby (and I t's always wet). The resort was also located near the market, again great when little kids are in tow. We hope it won't be too long for our next trip. Brandon will definitely here from us again. We very very much enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Place to stay for a family vacation

We had a great time. Easy access to swimming pool, beach and restaurant. It's a very spacious two bedroom condo. The ground floor is perfect for people with little children. It's short drive to Lahaina. There is plenty of parking and spots extremely close to the unit in the underground garage. We would highly recommend this unit.

This was an amazing condo with everything we needed for a perfect week in Maui! We were 2 couples so we both had our own large bedroom and bath and a large living area to hang out in. It was very nice to be able to fix our meals whenever we wanted with all the perks of my own kitchen. It was clean, well maintained and up to date. We loved the location of unit 103 where we took a few steps out our lanai door and were at the pool or a very short walk to the beach. It was a pretty calm, quiet resort without a lot of nonstop activities and noise. Brandon and Monty were super easy to work with and walked us through all our planning and check in so we didn't overlook anything. When we return to Maui, I'm pretty sure this is the place we'll want to stay again!

Awesome unit

We had stayed at Honua Kai previously and were excited to return. The resort is great, and the grounds and building very well maintained. We had never stayed in a ground floor unit, but were immediately glad that we did. The ceilings are higher than upper floor units, making the place seem much larger and very airy. The back door has its own lock and key, so we often times just exited straight from our unit onto the resort grounds, without having to trek down the hall to to the main building doors. The unit is very close to the lazy river. The outdoor patio has a wooden trellis as well as vegetation that really makes you feel like you have your own space, even though it's positioned in the inner courtyard. And you are close to the end of the building too, which makes it feel more isolated. There is a nice table and chairs as well as additional lounge chairs out there.

The unit is nicely furnished with most everything you could ask for. There is a cooler, nice beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and a bunch of beach toys and some kid type snorkel gear, all of which we used extensively. You don't have access to the resort towel service, but there were beach towels in the unit for our use. We washed/dried these daily in the washer/dryer unit and that worked fine. We also brought a couple of our own towels, which wasn't a bad idea. We used one towel to wipe wet/sandy feet on the patio before entering through the back door onto the carpet, as there wasn't a mat or anything there. Monty, the local property manager, was very kind and quickly responsive to any needs, although we had very few. Aside from a lack of any cooking staples/spices beyond salt and pepper, the unit has everything you need for a great time!

There are several pool options, with a lazy river and single water slide. The beach in front of the property is a nice place to plop but beware that there are some rocky areas so water shoes are helpful. There are other nearby beaches that are better for snorkeling and boogie boarding.

We had a great week and would most certainly return to this location and one of Brandon's properties. He was in close touch during the booking process and even while we were in the unit. Great experience all around.
