We rented Domer's for a long weekend getaway for the family. Conveniently located between families in Illinois and Michigan. Property was exactly as shown in the pictures. Very clean, well equipped, close to a small private beach area. The rental included use of same canoes as well as a paddle boat. Also the owner has a boat and a jet ski available for rent. The owner, Shari, was very accommodating with any needs we had both in the pre-planning and while staying at the property.
Very nice property+Very friendly/accommodating owner=wonderful time had by all.
We had a great time and rented both the Cozy Cottage and Domers Haven given the size of our family. Both homes had more amenities than what is described on the website. The proximity of the houses is such that we could walk easily between the two. We hung outside more at the lake house and had more meals at Domers haven. The pictures on the website for how the homes are laid out don't do it justice---there is more space in the common areas in the lake house than the pics appear (bedrooms are as small as they look) and the bedrooms at domers haven are as spacious as they appear. Both houses have basements that are quite nice as well...no pics of either on the website though. We spent so much time outside and had great weather that the temp control issue were not major issues for us. Shari knows about them (whistling noise in the Domers haven home---very annoying if you're in the common area of the home) and moisture control issue in the lake house.
The grills are gas grills (needed to be cleaned before being used) and we brought lots of things we didn't need---wish we would have brought a hose (though had I asked Shari she probably would have had that we could have used) and a container for recycling. The fridges are standard size and the one in the lake house is side by side so we relied on coolers quite a bit. From previous rentals we brought throw rugs to help with wiping feet before coming in/storing shoes inside and this was helpful.

We put the beach and watercrafts to good use! We used the boat (and were surprised with a jet ski availability as well and took full advantage of this too); the hourly rate is comparable to other places but there is no daily/weekly rental rate that would reduce that hourly rate---for us this would have been preferable.
We really did have a great time and would go back!
I rented the place for the Stanford football weekend. We had a great time. The place was more a home than a rental. The main house has an open floor plan. Bedrooms were good size. The screened in porch was a great feature. The views of the lake were beautiful. Our brides grew tired of old Domer stories. We spent a good amount of time on the deck and on the beach. The lake is big enough for skiing, water sports, fishing, etc. Kids had plenty of room to have a football game. The place is short drive to ND. We traveled into the town and had killers burgers at Kate O'Connors. The brides traveled to the Michigan City Outlet mall for some shopping Sunday. We sat on the lake deck and plotted our return next year.
