Great peaceful little cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved this little cabin. The drive up to it was quite the experience and I would highly recommend a 4 wheel drive if it were snowing. It will take you a good 20- 30 minutes to reach the cabin up the hill but well worth the drive as it was beautiful. The cabin itself was great and very clean. While we did have phone service we could not get wifi to work nor could we get the T.V. to work but that was good we needed to be disconnected for a while. Thank you for letting us use your beautifu peacefull cabin.

This was my first off the grid cabin rental. I had an amazing time. It was so peaceful. The woods are literally right out your front door. Went to bed every night with the sounds of the crickets. This house was very clean upon my arrival. It is beautifully decorated and well furnished. Not sure how to get up to the BIG 4 poster bed...would need a step stool for my short legs!!! The views from every side are breathtaking. I did not want to leave but reality was knocking!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin.

Pretty Ambiance but Sulfer Smell in Water

  • 2 of 5

Positive Takeaways:

1. The cabin is true to the pictures and isolated in the dense wooded forrest.

2. Great communication from the owner.

3. Quiet getaway ambiance

Negative Takeaways:

1. Something is wrong with cabin's well water. It had a strong sulfur smell so much so that no one in the party showered. Washing the dishes with the water seemed unsanitary. I would highly recommend that the owner look into fixing this.

2. The drive up to the cabin is 20-30min from the main road on rocky uphill terrain.

3. There were large spider webs (corner of living room) & dead bugs through out the cabin upon arrival.

4. The cleaning fee seems excessive due to the condition of the cabin upon arrival (spider webs/dead bugs).

5. Cabin not stocked with needed items. Ran out of toilet paper, dish soap and there were no clean sponges to use to clean the dishes.

As the cabin is right now I would not recommend to others. Should the owners fix the water situation & deep clean after each guest (with the cleaning fee) then I would be more inclined to recommend this property.

Cool Weekend Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I decided to cool of from the scathing Phoenix heat for the weekend.

We found a well-kept cabin in a remote and gorgeous location. All the advertised amenities. Hiking trails are everywhere, the Frisbee golf course looked fun, and it was very close to Gold Water Lake. Nights sitting outside on the front or back porches were cool and quiet. Our two dogs also had a blast! Highly recommendable.

Beautiful, remote retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This tiny cabin, located atop a mountain and off the grid, provided a wonderful retreat. The bed was super comfortable, the cabin was clean, and the water pressure was excellent. There is a fireplace inside the cabin and a fire pit and grill outside. While we chose not to bring our dogs, our dogs were welcome to stay on the property. A great get-away with proximity to the fun and funky town of Prescott.

The area is beautiful, the cabin is just ok.

  • 3 of 5

It snowed the day that we arrived, so I'm glad we drove an SUV or we would not have made it to the cabin. The cabin itself is tiny. We reserved it for 5 adults and while there was a futon in the living room, there was not an extra set of bedding for that. We had to use throw blankets and a pillow from one of the beds for the person sleeping on the futon. When we went to use the plates the next morning, they had dried-on food on them (all 5 of them). We ended up washing them (and the mugs) before we could enjoy our breakfast. Then the instructions in the cabin tell you to take out all the trash and clean all of the dishes before you leave, so that was annoying. I've stayed in VRBOs before where you have to load the dishwasher or something, but handwashing all the dishes you use seems like it should be covered in the $100 cleaning fee that you pay (especially when I had to wash them upon arrival. I contacted the owner about the dirty dishes and uncleanliness of the cabin, but was not refunded my cleaning fee (or even given a discount on the fee), which I thought would be a fair solution. I would not stay here again and I definitely do not recommend this place for more than 2 or 3 adults...it is just too small.

Owner's Response: Dear Joanna Thank you so much for writing a review and sharing your personal experience. I do apologize again about the condition the last guest may of left the dishes. We do take pride in our home and in the cleanliness of it. So since your complaint, we now check all the dishes on the shelf to be sure they are clean. We do thank you for bringing that to our attention as we want the dishes to be as clean and tidy as the rest of the home. I do not recall you saying the cabin it self was dirty. Also the reason we ask quest to take out their own trash to cans on back porch is so it does not smell up house and attract ants or bugs. We also have added extra pillows, blankets and linen to the closet for those who bring extra guest. Thank you again for your feed back as it allows us to improve the experience.
