Perfect for extended stays for those coming to LA for work or pleasure. With lots of bright natural light this beautiful garden guest house has 12 ft. high-beamed ceilings, a gorgeous romantic Victorian fireplace, unique tile & polished concrete flooring, brand new ultra-large granite-countered kitchen, large-sized appliances including dishwasher, outdoor & indoor dining, comfy Teak queen-size bed with double pillow-top mattress, Teak futon couch that converts to full-size bed, newly renovated large Spanish tiled bath, built-in bookshelves, walk-in closet w customized organized design & twin-size bed, dining & breakfast areas, rugs, linens, 55' TV with all channels, WiFi with own Apple base to assure great connection. It overlooks a lush private garden filled with fruit trees, flowers and herbs. It is quiet and secluded yet minutes away from the hottest clubs and bars, restaurants, studios, movie theaters, & shopping. Plentiful street parking is always easy and often right out front. All amenities such as dishes, pots & pans, towels included. Free washer and dryer use on premises. Outdoor BBQ grills & a fire pit & covered outdoor couches.
RATES and TERMS: There is a four-night minimum. Rates are based on occupancy of 1 guest. There is a $10. per person, per night charge for more than 1 guest. A cleaning fee will be deducted from the security deposit. Free laundry facilities on site.
Located in the exclusive and historic ‘SoHo’ neighborhood, which is the Southwestern corner of Hollywood bordering Hancock Park and West Hollywood, our guesthouse has approximately 900 square feet of casual luxury inside. The Spanish tiled flooring in the kitchen and bath as well as the earth-toned concrete floors and colorful exotic décor throughout lend a warm, rustic, yet luxurious feel while maintaining a family friendly usability. The open floor plan is like that of a very large loft. Twelve-foot vaulted ceilings in kitchen and main room provide spacious and light-filled areas. In addition there is a large full bath and a large walk-in closet that doubles as a small sleep space. The décor is exotic with notes of Moroccan and Caribbean influence. The jungle-like garden and outdoor fire pit adds to the tribal feel. Nestled behind our family home, the entire property is surrounded by a large secure gated wall. In back there is a shared garden and covered entertaining area with 2 large cushioned wicker couches, 2 wicker cushioned chairs, covered dining for 6 and more seating (uncovered) around the fire pit. There is also a propane grill and a wood-burning smoker grill for your outdoor cooking pleasures. We do allow smoking—but strictly outside only.
Please note the following sleeping amenities; solid Teak Queen-size bed with Pillow-top mattress, a solid Teak futon couch (same room) that quickly opens to a full-size bed. There is also a full-size mattress stowed beneath the queen-size bed. The large walk-in closet has a twin bed, great for out-of the-way napping. So sleeping for over 3 is certainly possible but is only recommended for medium to short-term stays. This space is ideally suited for an individual or couple on a long extended stay or 3 to 4 adults touring LA together for a couple of weeks. It can also work well for 2 adults with 1 or 2 children on short to medium-length stays. And of course for a couple seeking a 4-day or longer getaway, this is secluded, romantic and convenient. Now let’s talk about what to expect upon arrival.
You'll park your car on the street but with easy and accessible availability whereby you can almost always find a spot right in front. Coming down the driveway you will arrive at the 9 ft. double gate. If no one’s there to greet you personally a key lock box assures easy access with the private code we provided after you booked. You will then step into the secluded jungle-like back yard. Two friendly felines roam the property but do not leave the grounds. We ask that you always keep the entrance gate securely latched behind you. This keeps the kitties safely inside the compound and likewise gives you, our guests, an added level of safety and privacy.
In the main room, the 12 foot vaulted ceilings have 2 ceiling fans to circulate air year round and a large wall AC unit keeps things cool during late summer and early fall. Three skylights located in the main room, kitchen and bath, filter natural light in. Additional spotlight lighting on dimmers and recessed lighting too makes for much lighting control throughout, from bright to romantic to dramatic. A real fireplace with an ornate solid oak Victorian mantle adds a cozy, romantic and inviting appeal year-round. And in the chilly months a wall furnace gets the entire house toasty warm in just a few minutes.
A large bathroom has a shower/bathtub, plenty of plush towels, hairdryer, hand soap and 4 rolls of toilet paper provided. A large changing room closet has room for clothes, luggage and a small bed too. This is perfect if you are staying for a longer period of time and need more storage. One wall in the main room is covered in shelves housing; art, books, baskets to put your things in, and even children’s toys— a wonderful wooden train set and stuffed animals. Pint-sized chairs are also available on request for tiny tot guests.
The large granite-countered kitchen is well stocked with service for 6, wine glasses, coffee mugs, plentiful pots & pans, etc. and includes full size fridge, dishwasher, coffee-maker, microwave, and full-size oven/stove. Hand soap, dish soap, paper towels and dishwasher detergent are provided. Starter pack of coffee, tea & sweeteners are provided, as well as sparkling water, organic popcorn and a California Chardonnay await you when you arrive. Two side-by side indoor dining areas seat 7 easily collectively.
Just past the outdoor fire pit a full size washer and dryer are located in a separate utility shed and are free of charge to use whenever you like. Basic weekly maid service consists of cleaning kitchen and bath, vacuuming and dusting, but does not include laundry service or washing dishes.
Via a powerful private antenna a 55” flat screen TV provides all local major network channels and many international channels too. A Roku enables over a hundred other channels including Netfilx, Pandora, and HBO, to name just a few. Hundreds of feature films, TV, and children's programs are available free of charge to our guests via our amazing TV entertainment set-up. A strong wireless Internet signal and your own private Apple airport dock will enable connection to your devices throughout your stay too.

This guesthouse is a jewel. It has good, warm, and exotic energy pulsing through it. Previously I rented it to long term guests (four years plus) who never wanted to leave. Several have gotten engaged here. One girl wanted to keep renting it after she moved out and in with her new husband. It just has that effect on people. I wanted to enjoy it sometimes too—which is why I decided to go short-term full time.
Once inside the gates you feel like you are in a secluded lush jungle compound. It is so serene and beautiful here. Then outside you are in the heart of the city, with all the amenities that the fast lane offers. It's a convenient juxtaposition. You feel like you're getting the best that California living has to offer.

Such a great experience in a wonderful location with a really caring hostess. She made out stay so comfortable and her home was beautiful. We loved meeting Ms Sallie and her friends. The backyard and patio were gorgeous and made us want to stay outside. We can't wait to visit again.
We stayed in Sallie's guest house for a week and it couldn't have been better. Sallie was very accommodating even though we booked last minute. She even personalized an arrival card for us with a very special message. The guest house is very spacious and tastefully decorated; it came equipped with everything we needed including a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of towels. The location is great, we were close to come excellent shops and restaurants along Melrose and Santa Monica Blvd, as well as a short 5-10 minute drive to plenty of beautiful places to hike. We were able to park on the street without a problem. Sallie's backyard and garden are wonderful and relaxing, and you can even catch some serious rays on her sun chairs in the back.
Sallie was always available if we needed anything, but let us have our privacy during our stay.
I would recommend this guest house to anyone travelling to Los Angeles!
We loved our stay here. Sallie is a great land lady who is more than willing to help out with any questions one might have about the city. Great area, close to everything. We will definitely stay here when we visit LA. Clean and very well maintained!!!!
Quiet, comfortable shaded outdoor couch, special night lighting. No washer or dryer, nice big screen TV, wifi. but only 1 major network at limited times; poor TV viewing. Well appointed, great owner lives on-site. Walking distance to Hollywood for restaurants and shopping. UBER was fast and reasonable.
My wife and I had plenty of space. Unit was very clean. Street parking was not an issue, always found parking very close to the house. Owner was very pleasant. Excellent location. For the price this is a no brainer.
