We like to meet people from around the world. Happy if I am free to take you out on some local walks / and discuss where the best things to visit are whilst we have a drink together.
Robin purchased this House in 2006
Why Robin chose Gagnières
We fell in love with the house when we saw exactly the location and the setting . It is so calm here and private with almost no noise. Nature is untouched and we are surrounded by it, animals birds, insects, trees and flowers. The night sky is amazing , sometimes we just lie down on the warm stone driveway at night and watch it and the shooting stars ( especially in August ) It is extremely relaxing. However there is a lot to see and do locally and the shops and other facilities ( doctor dentist ) are only 5 mins away in the car. Plenty of days trips are available too as we are in the centre of a variety of popular locations.

Peaceful Getaway from it all
I beautiful, clean property ideal for 2 to get away from the noise and bustle of life. Robin the host met us and was great describing the area and property and the entry to the huge pool for our use, bed was a great size big and very comfortable. The outdoor shower, if you preferred this, was superb the mornings. Had a great stay even had an evening picnic prepared by Robins wife Chantel at the top of the terrace to watch the harvest moon. All in all a great time with trips out to local restaurants and viewing great scenery. would visit again. Dean. PS. Hope Megs busking went OK.
Great hosts and wonderful scenery
Robin and Chantal are the perfect hosts: discreet but so helpful and warm. Lovely to walk in these hills and then come back to a swim in a private and large pool! Very well appointed property.
A wonderful and relaxing experience.
Peace and hospitality in a wonderful location.
This gite is attached to the owners home is a beautiful garden with only the sounds of birds and insects to disturb you. It is well equipped with everything you could need. The pool is great. Robin and Chantelle are the perfect hosts. They are warm and so helpful suggesting restaurants and day trips. We were invited to an evening with their neighbours and to an evening of outdoor cinema in the garden and felt very much part of 'French living'. The location is wonderful for exploring, markets, hiking, festivals, night sky viewing and river swims. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
We know the owners well. No stone is left un-turned in ensuring guests have a fantastic time. We stayed at the property previously and rented the whole villa. Only having the GITE part didn't change the experience. The area is stunning. Zero traffic, fantastic walks, villages, rivers and gorges. Hardly anyone speaks English so you feel properly on holiday. The GITE, pool and grounds are exceptionally large and tranquil. I'd happily stay all year! There isn't anything that could be changed to improve it. Perfect in every way.
Beautiful location and a warm welcome
Absolutely wonderful. Comfortable accommodation, extensive and beautiful gardens to relax in total peace, excellent pool, walks in stunning scenery from the front door, and so much to explore in the area. A real welcome that made us completely at home. Very highly recommended.

There is an almost endless supply of things to do in this nature rich region and national park. A huge amount of spectacular walks, some of which are around 1000 years old and known as the donkey route as celebrated by the famous Robert Louis Stephenson in his book "Travels with a Donkey in the Cévennes". There are many different excellent markets to visit, depending on the time of year there are also famous Antique markets nearby. If you come in Summer you will have a chance to enjoy the great selection of entertainment , ranging from Jazz, Pop , Classical festivals. An almost unlimited supply of tiny villages to visit , some with traditional family cafes and restaurants, where you can still get a three course homes cooked meal for 13 Euro with wine. You can make day trips to the old walled city of Avignon and see all the spectacles there , including the fabulous Popes Palace, on the way also visit the spectacular Pont Du Gard. A little further on , but still possible in a day is a visit to one of the longest and least touched beaches, like the Plage de l'Espiguette, Le Grau du Roi.
