Zoe's Old Cow Shed Dale End Farm
Zoe and Steve Blair
About Zoe and Steve Blair
Steve and Zoe purchased Dale End Farm in December 2015, after a whirlwind year including our marriage and later the birth of our daughter. The renovation started in February 2016 with the support of local tradesmen and materials. It was completed in May 2016 after an intensive restoration programme. We have a black poodle dog called Rupert, 3 alpacas called Pedro, Pablo and Alfi.

Lovely weekend with our friends
The property was perfect, we had a weekend away catching up with our friends
Location was beautiful with surrounding farms and country scenery
Property was modern providing all equipment we needed, large windows to enjoy the views and an outside area to do a barbecue and soak up the atmosphere
Will definitely recommend to anyone from families to couples
A LOVELY WEEKEND!
Easy to book and communication with owner v efficient.
The property in a beautiful location with stunning views all around. We had great weekend at the Cowshed and would certainly come back.
Fantastic break in a great little house.
The property was very well furnished and had everything that we needed for a really comfortable break. The owners were very friendly and encouraged the children to see all of the animals on the farm. We would highly recommend the location and the property.
Fabulous place! Zoe and Steve have thought of everything!
So lovely to wake up to the Alpacas ducks hens and pigs!
Handy for lots of local villages and beautiful walking trails. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Loved the cottage. Lots to do on grounds that isn’t advertised. Swings, trampoline, table tennis.
Perfect location. Very tranquil and calm with good walks on your doorstep
Owners are on site and are very friendly. Would definitely stay again
Idyllic spot ofr a short break
Beautiful location in a very quiet dale on a very quiet road. We stayed in Zoe's Cow Shed, which was furnished to a very high standard throughout, and had a very good kitchen with everything we needed. Great to see the kitchen knives were sharp, and both the induction hob and oven worked really well - not like the cheap appliances that so many places have! There is a patio area with outdoor tables and chairs, as well as a nice clean Weber barbecue in the garden which we used every evening.
We got a lovely welcome, meeting Rupert the (very well behaved) poodle, the alpacas, ducks and chickens. Daily visits from a peahen and her chicks were lovely.
We couldn't get a mobile signal, but there is good WiFi coverage throughout the property (hint - the password is on the bottom of the Access Point in the lounge area) - so important to our teenage son!
Note the drive into the farmyard has quite a steep ramp - I can imagine some lower cars would make contact with the road, but there is parking at the top which would be fine.
Having never been to the area before, we were stunned by the countryside, which is incredibly pretty and unspoilt.
Bakewell is nearby and, whilst very busy, is a lovely place to visit. Well worth going to the Chatworth Estate Farm Shop just the other side of Bakewell whihc is a lovely place selling really good meats, veg and deli stuff, as well as homeware etc.
We also did a circular walk from Ashford in the Water to Monsal Head across fields and through really lovely woods.
If there is a downside, it's that there is not a pub within easy walking distance, but luckily we'd stocked up on wine and survived!
All in all, we had a fabulous time, helped by the amazing August Bank Holiday weather. Highly recommended!
