Beautiful views, serenity, and convenience to natural wonders, this condo is amazing. Beautifully decorated and well stocked, you may be tempted to stay in all the time....but don't.....you came to Hawaii, experience and enjoy the natural wonder of this magical place!
Thank you! When we come back to Hawaii we will look forward to staying at your condo. We loved the fact that it was away from the hustle and bustle. Very relaxing.
The property was as described, clean, great view, QUIET!!!! Wonderful place for an anniversary, or couples get away. All the little amenities are already included, and what's not there can be purchase right down the street at the groceries. One of the best snorkeling beaches 1 mile away, 24/7 security on property, great views. I will stay here again. The manager answers any questions quickly, security deposit refunded quickly, cable tv with Dvr if you decide to stay in (not likely). Overall wonderful place to be.
We loved staying there. It is off of the beaten path, has less of a tourist feel than other places. The views are amazing. The room was super nice. We loved it and would love to stay there again. Clean room and good customer service. Pool area was nice with a great view.
Overall our stay was comfortable due to the clean and non cluttered facilities. I loved having access to wifi and the digital cable was wide open and we found we were able to watch most if not all of the channels we normally do.
My spouse and I are used to a king sized bed, so the queen sized bed took some getting used to. The bedroom is quite large so there definitely is the space to do so - it's unfortunate the owners didn't take advantage of the space. We also really liked the sheets - they were soft and non piled. My only complaint was the bedding and linens were absolutely SATURATED in fabric softener. So much so that our skin stunk of tutti fruitti the next day. We ended up washing all the bedding (great to have the facilities as we had an infant with us) however the sheets and blankets still had (an albeit milder) tutti fruitti smell. It is very unfortunate as the sheets and towels are already soft, so the extra scents and oils were unnecessary.
Also - eventhough it was beyond the owners control, the central AC konked out after our first (of 8 nights). It took 7 days for the part to come from the 'mainland', so we were essentially without AC foR our entire stay. At night it didn't really matter as we were 15 ft high on the mountain side and were able to get a nice cross breeze. However the peacocks howl 24/7 so it was a bit hard to sleep with the doors open. Thankfully there were no mosquitos as there were no screens on the patio doors. The local residents say the AC is always a problem and it is always on 'the fritz'. The AC for all the buildings is run by a major power station directly behind our building. It was incredibly loud the night it did work - so it was almost a mixed blessing that it died.
My recommendation to the owners would be to install better curtains. The ones currently are the vertical style. When the doors are open they flap around and from my experience they tend to break. Black out curtains and sheers would be a more welcome addition - particularly early morning (6am) when the sun is beating down on the bedroom window.
It would also be ideal to have more dishes as my spouse and I were finding we were running the dishwasher quite frequently just to have enough plates and glasses to eat from throughout the day
the pool and bbq area were almost always empty which when used it was done so by mostly older ppl and families enjoying the facilities. All were very clean and grounds well kept.
We loved our stay at Makaha Towers! The condo was very clean and welcoming. It was great to have a full kitchen to save money making some of our own meals.
The pool and grilling area were very well kept and never crowded. The beach was only a mile from the condo and it was perfect! We virtually had it to ourselves most of the time (very different than the crowded Waikiki beach area).
The bed was comfortable, the hide-a-bed wasn't as comfortable, but the younger kids were okay on it. The bathroom was big and very nice.
You can see the ocean and mountains from the full wall of windows. If there was anything negative, it would be the ceiling vent that rattled really loud when the air ran, but that certainly wasn't a huge deal, although it did wake us up.
The peacocks on the property were a fun additional perk! We would definitely stay again!
We were very impressed with how nicely decorated, and clean the condo is. The view is amazing. The his/her sinks in the bathroom, foam mattress with high thread count sheets, and the stone shower are an especially nice touch.
The location is great for beaches, and amenities a short drive away. Traffic on the H1 can be heavy, but we found the best time to head east to the city was after 10am. Coming back west, it's wise to wait as late as you can (after 9pm we still noticed a bit). Just roll down the window, and take the chance to enjoy the beautiful view of the beaches along the west side of the island.
Hawaii is home to many types of birds. The peacocks in particular are nice to look at, but they can be loud at night, so if you aren't used to it, bring some earplugs.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend the place to friends and family.
The apartment was exactly as described and neat and clean. Security was easy to work with as was the front office staff. The view was wonderful.
The property manager was very quick to reply to questions leading up to the rental, during, and after.
There were two issues. The one concerned excessive use of Glade spray. I had trouble sleeping the first night as it doesn't wear off for at least seven hours. The property manager is aware and will work with cleaning staff to keep it from being excessive, particularly around the pillows.
The other issues is my own. I have a fear of heights and the concrete ledge in front of the 15th floor apartment to the elevator was a challenge. There wasn't anything the manager could have done about this, but it is just a heads up to anybody else with such a phobia. But, if I could make it on the walkway pretty much everybody else can.
I found the information package to be complete and covering anything you might have questions about.
We did go to the Pililaau Army Recreation Center, Waianae, for a shared birthday meal. If you have a valid military ID, you can park there. If not, you can park outside and walk in with an valid drivers license/ID card. We also went walking along Keana Point State Park. It was a super walk and if you like walking like we do, it is well worth it. We did see notices at the parking areas and, my brother who lives in Waianae, confirmed that thieves will target rental vehicles. Do not leave anything in the vehicle or place items in the vehicle trunk while there. We didn't have problems, but it is worth being aware of. This is true for the rest of Hawaii.
The rental instructions are very correct about how heavy traffic can be on the drive towards Pearl City and Honolulu. Do leave enough time for travel.
We also had problems finding an Oahu map in the Waianae area. We finally picked up a good map at the USS Arizona memorial. If like my husband, you would prefer to have a good map, pick one up in Honolulu or Pearl City.
We will recommend this property to friends and family.
