Perched on the much photographed, Grade II listed, wooden toll bridge, Toll Bridge House has a remarkably spacious interior, and guards the crossing linking the coastal towns of Tywyn and Barmouth. There is a lovely little balcony on the opposite side of the bridge – the perfect place to sip a glass of wine and enjoy watching a sunset. The famous George III Hotel is adjacent to the bridge and serves delicious, locally sourced food and a selection of real ales. The Mawddach Trail walking and cycle path passes the door. Also adjacent is the RSPB bird hide, a great place for watching birds out on the estuary. The market town of Dolgellau and the beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne are well worth a visit. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
