A lifelong resident of South Carolina, I grew up on a farm in rural Horry County. I was blessed to be able to purchase this vast wilderness wonderland and enhance it by adding cabins, a chapel, a general store, a dining/recreation hall, a wonderful bath house, and electric and water hookups for RVs and horse trailers. We have miles of trails for anyone interested in hiking, biking, or horseback riding, and we also have fantastic access for kayakers to adjacent Jeffries Creek. We are a secluded but secure destination, with an on-site general manager who is very helpful, should you need anything at all!
River Neck Acres was the perfect spot for me to be able to put together a small and quiet campground/cabin rentals/horseback riding/hiking/kayaking package for people who just want to get away and enjoy a weekend with no bothers and interruptions. Too often these days, our phones and other technologies rule us. At River Neck Acres, the visitor has the opportunity to 'get off the grid' without sacrificing comfort. We like to invite people to come to River Neck Acres to find their peace of mind. That fits, because once here, you can feel the stress having been lifted off already. I wanted guests to feel the same way, and I believe they do.
It may sound too simple: Sit on your cabin porch rocker and just soak in the atmosphere. The air. The sky. The grounds. The quiet, with no car engines to be heard, no roaring traffic, or blaring horns. The beauty of nature that surrounds you, wakes you up with fantastic sunrises, and ends your day drenched in a beautiful sunset. The sounds of duck wings as these beautiful creatures pass, or of a coyote or fox far in the distance in the night. Or the sight of a small herd of deer as they venture out to nibble near the edge of a field and their woodlands home. An ancient Bald Cypress Swamp that will mesmerize you. A feeling that takes you back to a simpler time in life, and relaxes you like few other things or thoughts do. Those are just SOME of the unique features of River Neck Acres.
It was so nice to be away from the noise of the city. The staff was so friendly. I will definitely return.
We had a great time in our cozy cabin at the end of a long dirt road. Very friendly welcome and atmosphere.
My husband and I spent four days and three nights in one of the cabins. Honestly, we hated to leave! Everything we needed was there from towels to paper plates, a full-sized stove and a good-sized refrigerator. The bed was comfortable as was the couch. The cabin was neat and very clean and Terry, the on-site manager, made sure our cabin was cooled down for us as the day was very hot. I can't say enough of Terry's kindness and hospitality toward us. He also made sure we had his cell number in case we needed anything while we were there.
The property itself is beautiful, too! Although we didn't get to explore as much as we had planned on, we are definitely going back again very soon! The drive to the Beach isn't bad from the cabin either! If anyone has horses, this would be an ideal place for you! Our dog enjoyed running around and laying on the porch. It was relaxing and just a wonderful time.
P.S. I really appreciate the beautiful cabin and the time you all took in building it. The craftsmanship is amazing! It certainly beats staying in a "cookie cutter" hotel room! Thank you for a wonderful trip! We can't say enough about how good the relaxation was for both of us! May God bless you all!
