Large south facing balcony attracts the sun from sunrise to sunset. Conveniently located between Nerja and Torrox Costa providing everything you need for a perfect holiday.

Casa Don Quixote: Casa Don Quixote has been refurbished by the new owners and tastefully decorated for your comfort, rest and relaxation. Situated on a bluff directly across the road from the Penoncilla Beach the views out to sea are simply stunning. From sunrise to sunset the large south facing Balcony attracts the sun all day long, with the Pergola providing a degree of shade. The view is simply breathtaking ..... help yourself to the fruits and herbs growing there .... A romantic evening on the Balcony, switch off the lights and gaze at the magnificent twinkling stars...and lilsten to the gentle lapping waves of the mediterranean ...

Pool & Gardens: To the rear of the property, the superb private pool is for the exclusive use of residents and guests with a magnificent scenic backdrop of the Sierra Alimijara & Tejeda mountains - foothills to the Sierra Nevada.

Places of Interest: In addition to the local Penoncilla Beach, there are excellent safe beaches at Torrox Costa, Nerja and Torre del Mar. The awesome Caves of Nerja are worth exploring. Take a morning coffee or relax in the evening sunset at Nerja's Balcony of Europe. Both towns have shops & excellent market days, festivals & fiestas.

Dining out is a multi-choice experience from the local restaurants, cafes, tapas, and bars with the local coastline providing daily fresh fish supplies.

A venture in-land to the mountain villages of Frigliana and Competa, is highly recommended. (In search of local wines/sherry, look no further than the Museum of Wine in Competa).

The city of Malaga is a Capital of Culture with numerous museums, galleries, Fortress Castle, shops & Bullring.

Granada is only 1.5 hours by car.

Third stay - familiarity breeds content!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay in Casa Don Quixote, the last one being in 2012, and whilst we have had some lovely holidays over the last three years, Torrox and this apartment in particular , to us, personifies what a holiday is all about; luxurious and comfortable accommodation, fantastic weather, lovely scenery (without even leaving the apartment area), good dining options, etc resulting in total relaxation..

We spent more time around the beautiful elevated pool this time, which has improved even more by the planting of some new colourful and aromatic Mediterranean shrubs and palms around it. We never tire of this area - the pool area is never busy and this year we felt quite spoiled as we had the pool to ourselves on two days. It also picks up any light breezes - very welcome in the heat of the day, and the vistas as you swim or sunbathe are beautiful in all directions.

Although we made good use of the local produce - there are plenty of small supermarkets and independent shops within a few minutes drive - and the excellent cooking facilities in the apartment, we treated ourselves to dinner at La Rompiente, based on Trip Advisor reviews, and had such a lovely evening that we returned later in the holiday. We also enjoyed coffee and cake - from a huge selection at Caribe, excellent value at just 3 euros. The promenade in Torrox was as bustling (though not crowded) as ever in the evenings with bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets and is good to stroll along to walk off any indulgences! Similarly Nerja promenade is continually improving and with a more lively atmosphere. We never tire of ice-creams at sunset on the Balcon de Europe and there is usually some live entertainment going on at dusk.

We tended to do some short sight seeing trips in the mornings - Torrox Pueblo, Nerja and Frigiliana all just a few minutes drive away, and then return to relax at the pool or the lovely and well equipped balcony in the afternoons, the balcony being in the sun from dawn to dusk, though with shade available, making al fresco dining a delight. Malaga is just 40 minutes drive and we had a lovely day exploring the Alcabaza (excellent value and fantastic views) and then having lunch at the new promenade at the marina. As has been said many times Staying at Casa Don Quixote really is like home from home equipped with every conceivable item you might need, we love it and hope to return much quicker next time.

Third visit - familarity breeds content

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay in Casa Don Quixote, and despite some lovely holidays in the three years since our last visit, staying in this apartment and holidaying in the Torrox area, to us, personifies what a holiday is all about - luxurious and comfortable accommodation, lovely scenery - stunning views from the extensive and well equipped balcony and pool area, good dining options, not forgetting the fantastic weather; resulting in a totally relaxing experience.

The elevated pool area has been improved even more this year with new planting in the garden and new sunbeds. It was never crowded and due to the prolonged hot weather, the water was a lovely temperature. As mentioned in our previous, and other reviews the apartment is very well furnished and equipped with every conceivable item, especially kitchen utensils and crockery etc. Although we made good use of the excellent cooking facilities and local produce most evenings, we treated ourselves to a meal at la Rompiente - based on Trip Advisor reviews, and it lived up to it's No1 spot, so much so that we returned later in the holiday - highly recommended. Also we enjoyed coffee and cake (an extensive choice but the warm apple cake is delicious) at Caribe for just 3 euros. If you can tear yourself away from the apartment and pool there are lots of places to visit - we tended to sight see in the morning and then return for a relaxing afternoon and evening. Torrox Pueblo, Nerja and Frigiliana are all just a few minutes drive away, and we had a lovely time in the cathedral quarter in Malaga, enjoying the magnificent views from the Alcazaba and enjoying lunch at the new marina promenade. All in all a fantastic holiday and we look forward to returning very soon.

Everything you could possibly need or want

  • 5 of 5

Casa Don Quixote was a perfect fit for us. Everything we could possibly have needed was there. Aircon, Wifi, great kitchen equipment, Good TV and comfy sofas. As if that wasn't enough the views from the large terrace are fantastic. The beach across the road although a mix of sand and pebbles was enjoyable and the beach restaurants along it served great seafood and lovely cold beer.

This was the laziest holiday we have had for quite some time and it was thoroughly enjoyable and stress free. This was due in large part to the house, it's facilities and the service provided.

It felt like we were staying at my aunts house whilst she was out working and thats as good a compliment as I can give Casa Don Quixote.

Owner's Response: To have provided a perfecd fit, is indeed a great compliment and that you enjoyed a fully relaxing holiday which is what we all strive to achieve. The beach across the road has recently become surfers paradise this year on occasions early evening when conditions are right providing a spectacle of colour. Then when the sea is a silent millpond the dolphins pop along for fun and those who fish cast their rods. Thank you so much for your precious pebble !

After reading all the fantastic reviews on trip advisor we were so excited to go to finally arrive at Casa don Quixote. What an amazing and wonderful experience, we loved every minute of our stay. We chilled out the minute we arrived! The decor, the little extras from the bathrobes, the beach towels, the groceries waiting for us to mention a few and the feeling of home from home cannot put into words. The balcony was a gem and as a result we hardly moved out of the apartment for our stay. This is a most wonderful relaxing place and left feeling so revived......we will most definitely be back.

Everything we needed and more!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in Don Quitoxe.

I would say 'home from home' but I think 'luxury away from home' would be more accurate!

Everything we needed and more, from personalised bath robes for after our jacuzzi baths, to paracetamol in the first aid kit!

The view is out of this world! 180 degree sea view! We spent every night on the balcony, and enjoyed a glass of rioja after either a BBQ or a lovely meal made in the very well equipped kitchen!

The other guests around the pool were friendly and we have already met up with one family since returning home!

Can't wait to go again next summer!

This was our second visit to Don Quixote, and it was as good as the first. The standard of accomodation remains superb, and the facilities unsurpassed, with the new kitchen very impressive. A throroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday. Roll on the third visit!!

Owner's Response: We always strive to maintain our high standards for discerning guests who return to enjoy their rest & relaxation. The new open plan kitchen/ breakfast bar has provided a comfortable area should you prefer to dine indoors. The current summer temperatures are so outstanding we have installed an awning over the al fresco dining area on the Balcony. So glad you enjoyed your days out exploring the area too. We welcome your return and review.
