About the property

Our beautiful large duplex apartment has the most magnificent unrestricted views across the North East coastline. We pride ourselves on offering you a home from home with all the comfort you could expect. Our beds all have memory foam mattresses ensuring a comfortable rest and both our bathrooms have both showers and baths for the occasion when you just want to enjoy a long hot soak . We have one double bedroom with ensuite and upstairs the second bedroom with 1 double bed and 2 single beds also ensuite making this an ideal large family room . There are several bars and restaurants close by . The apartment is on the top two floors of an imposing Victorian building and has many of its original features but all with a modern twist. You could not be better postionioned for travelling around the stunning North East were you can visit many of the attractions that we have to offer and just a stones throw from Northumbria. Scotland is only 90. Mins away by train. We have stunning walks, this is truly a stunning place to visit .

About Sea Glass Suite

I was born here in Roker and remember as child playing in the sand, building sand castles, playing in the water until you went blue( as a child you didn't even notice ) and eating egg sandwiches which always , some how got sand in them. As a adult I wanted to travel the world and explore new places, which I did as I became a Flght attendant for our National carrier. I flew around the world to some amazing places. After 28yrs I finally decided I would like to come home back to this lovely coastline that I grew up on. My husband is American and he also loves where we live. We are both passionate about this hidden little treasure and hope that you will also enjoy making memories too.

Lynn was so helpful and made us feel so welcome. Lynn had even provided essentials which was great after a long journey. The apartment has been decorated to a lovely standard and is very spacious. It had everything we needed.

Beautiful apartment with even better sea views.

The warm welcome we received upon arrival and helpful hints provided during our stay only served to confirm what others have already said .......... Lynn is an extremely well organised and friendly host where nothing seems to be too difficult or unnecessary.

This well equipped 2 floor apartment offers 2 bedrooms with some of the most comfortable beds we've ever enjoyed. Furniture throughout the apartment is of a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The property has high speed broadband internet. Exclusive private parking is provided on the premises. Reassuringly, just about everything you might need has been provided to make sure staying here feels like a home away from home.

Location of the apartment is very easy to find with the Roker hotel very close by and many restaurents are within easy walking distance. A well known supermarket is about a mile away and many other shops and banks are also nearby. Sunderland's Stadium of Light is less than 5 minutes drive away.

Last but certainly not least, the 'feel good factor' from the magnificent sea views right outside are priceless.

Sunderland has one of the most beautiful , oldest and stunningly restored theatres in the country. Built in 1907, The Empire Theatre is one of the few remaining theatre to have four tiers. It has shows on every night and with one of the largest stages is able to host West End shows on a grand scale . A short walk away is the National Glass Centre a must visit attraction. Very close to that, is St Peters Church which was built in the 7th century AD , a must for history lovers. We have the most amazing seaside walks, anywhere in the country . Also for the historians, Roker's iconic pier ( opposite the apartment ) is soon to be opened , to enable tours of the inside, a route used by the light house keepers in bad weather as a escape route.

It is the start and finish of the cycle ride C2C , so attract lots of varied people with varied interests. We are also on the North Sea bike route.

We are a short distance from the iconic Angel of the North statue designed by Anthony Gormley which towers over Gateshead as you pass on the way to the largest shopping mall in Europe the Metro Centre. If shopping is not your thing then there are lots of castles and historic places to visit . The beautiful Lindisfarne Island is a must visit . As well as the Farn Islands one of the best breeding areas for the beautiful sea birds and Puffins also the breeding ground for our Seals.

We are perfectly placed for lots of our North Eastern placed businesses so if you are on business or pleasure this is the perfect place to stay. If premier league football is your thing then Sunderland's Stadium of Light is just a 20 mins walk away , where they also host a number of special events as well as all the home matches. Next to the Stadium is the Sunderland Aquatic centre which has an Olympic size swimming pool and gym that hosts a number of swimming events. Sunderland's International Air Show is hosted here on our beautiful coastline. This is the largest free air show in Europe. It is held over 3 days, the third weekend in July. Our apartment has totally unrestricted views over the sea giving you a birds eye view for those enthusiastic plane spotters. If booking over this period you will be given a private car parking access pass, so prices are of a premium over that period. In September we also have Sunderland illuminations, an event which continues to grow. The sea front lights stretch the length of Roker and Seaburn and are captivating for both adults and children alike and our local park have all kinds of entertainment for children. The local bars and restaurants also cater for this event which last a couple of weeks . I hope by after reading this, you feel you would like to visit and we would love to welcome you.
