Why Andree Falconer chose Puget
There are many reasons that combine to make us feel confident you will be utterly delighted with this choice of property for your independent and bespoke holiday in Provence. Key factors ; 1) Its unbeatable location: Idyllic setting on the southern flank of the majestic hills + mountains of the Luberon Natural Regional Park, looking full-south, across the fertile Durance valley (France's most prolific producer of fresh produce including melons, almonds, olives, soft fruits, vegetables of all sorts, cheeses, wine, honey, + soap). Lovely views from the bedrooms to the south towards the Mont St Victoire in Aix en Provence (Cezanne's mountain), and the Alpilles/St Remy, as well as to the North into the Luberon mountains. Situated in the heart of the sought-after Provencal county of Vaucluse (“Vallée clausa” or “hidden valley”), you can stroll directly out from the farmhouse directly into the hills + mountains, through the forest, the valleys, the summits, the springs, or along the river. As you walk, the air fills with the unforgettable scents of rosemary, thyme and summer savoury. The vistas a+topography are quite simply breathtakingly beautiful, as is the Provencal light. The Luberon Natural Regional Park is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and forms part of a global network of reserves and geo parks with protected biosphere by UNESCO. The Luberon is renowned for its biodiversity, + is unique in its combination of maritime + pre-Alpine habitats as well as it rich flora and fauna, including the Bonelli Eagle + the Short Toed Snake Eagle. 2)The character and feeling of the house, the pool, and the gardens combined with the surrounding countryside, and proximity to everything: The farmhouse has oodles of character, and its traditional construction provides delicious coolness in the summer, and cosy warmth in the winter, thanks to its 45cm thick solid stone walls. It boasts lots of original features likes exposed beams + stone, terra cotta floors, etc.

A Perfect Holiday
We cannot recommend Les Muriers highly enough. We (me, my husband and our six-year-old son) spent two weeks there in August 2018. The accommodations were wonderful. The private outside space and separate entrance into the pool area were ideal. We spent the evenings cooking local recipes with local ingredients in the lovely kitchen. We spent the days visiting Mérindol and its neighbouring villages. Andrée was the perfect host and her enthusiasm for and knowledge of the area were infectious. We felt very taken care of and hope to go back again soon. From the booking process through to the farewells, we couldn't complain if we wanted to. We rented a car (which I would recommend as there are too many treasures in that area of Provence which cannot be reached on foot) and felt at home as soon as we pulled into the private garage. We planned to go out more than we did only because the property itself was so relaxing we couldn't bear to leave too often. It really was a perfect holiday.
Aawhg thank you soooo much! It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and your lovely family, to welcome you to Les Muriers and to be able to share some insider tip, as well as your kindred passion for all things Provencale and oh so French! We can't wait to welcome you back.
With my warmest wishes to you three xxx
Our delightful stay in Les Mueriers in Les Borrys
This was our first trip to Provence, and we wanted to be well located to all the sites that we planned to visit. We were pleased to have found that all that we had planned to see were within an hour's drive of the property with Pont du Gard and Cassis stretching that by just a little. Good restaurants are in abundance within 30 minutes of the property and many are located within 10-15 minutes. The Super U located outside of Lauris is 10 minutes away and rivals the best supermarkets in the U.S. One of our favorite things to do during our stay was to visit the many one-day markets that are located in many of the nearby towns....our favorite was the Friday market in Lourmarin.
The house is very comfortable and very spacious. It is located on the second floor of the property. A flat screen TV with a big channel selection is in the living/dining area. The ceiling is high adding to the spaciousness of the room. The kitchen is modern with a gas stove top and electric oven. There are two small size refrigerators that more than met our needs. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There is also an abundance of dishes, utensils and pots and pans. Both bedrooms are spacious and each has a connecting bathroom....one with a shower and the other with a bathtub. The beds are comfortable. There is a small room with a washing machine. The house is very clean.
A private garden area is in the back of the house that has chairs and a picnic table. A full size built-in grill is located adjacent to the garden area. Near this area is a rotating clothesline. The swimming pool is located out of the front door to the house. The pool is lovely and extremely well maintained. There are several lounge chairs in the pool area.
The parking area is just a few steps away. The property is located in a heavily wooded area, and there is a feeling of privacy yet a feeling of security at the same time. We felt that it was a plus having the owner living on the property.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay there very much. We would recommend it without hesitation to our closest friends.
Peaceful, comfortable and well-located
Comfortable and spacious gite with very pleasant and private pool area complete with very comfortable sun loungers to while away the day reading plus occasional bursts of energy on the table tennis table. Walks and runs straight out the back all with the wonderful scent of wild thyme, rosemary and pine. Bernard is a mine of local information and the drive around the Luberon that he recommended was a highlight. Great place to explore what is a truly wonderful area; Lourmarin (just up the road) is great for a leisurely lunch or dinner and has a great market. Cucuron is also stunning.
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful farmhouse
Beautifully restored farmhouse, very clean and well maintained. Andree is a very friendly and helpful owner, she gave us many good ideas on what to do/where to go. The location of the house is perfect - you are very close to Lourmarin and also Aix is not far away. But you also have the calm of a small provencale village (Merindol) where you can enjoy a quiet evening in a nice restaurant without too many people. Or you can go for a great walk in the Luberon - within a few steps you are in the middle of the nature.
Wonderfull property, ideally located
We had a great family holiday (children 7-9yrs). The house and pool area were fantastic, clean and just as it appeared in the photographs on the web. Andree made us feel very welcome and only too pleased to share her in-depth knowledge of the area. The house was ideally situated with restaurants and shops within easy reach, as well as many of the top attraction of the area. Thanks Andree for a wonderful holiday!
We (couple, with 3 yr old) spent 2 weeks in August 2010 at Les Muriers (LM) in the heart of the Luberon, and this was by far one of the best vacations we've had in a long time - thanks to LM and owner Andree! If you are looking for a relaxing time in a quiet rural setting, yet with easy access to many places to see (tourist attractions across the Provence, historic cities of Aix, Avignon, urban center such as Marseilles, Mediterranean coastline, hilly countryside of Luberon, Vaucluse river, and so on), ideal for kids and outdoors activities - and a great host: search no more! Andree and LM is the place for you! We had our parents and friends coming over to visit for several days, the place can accomodate 6 adults as per the description. Andree was superb, and extremely helpful in making us and our visitors comfortable, providing us with whatever we needed, and giving us very useful tips on must-sees in the area. If you get the very detailed info package on the house and surroundings from Andree, you will get a fairly accurate idea of what to expect about the house, the location - and the customer service. Obviously, to get to places (including the next door lovely town of Merindol where you will want to buy your fresh baguette & croissants every morning and eat at La Bastide) you will need to have a car.
In the heart of the Luberon Natural Park itself, the farmhouse is located in a tiny, quiet hamlet yet only only 2 mins. (1 mile) from bustling, unspoilt village of Merindol (all amenities) or 10 minutes to conservation village and gastronomic centre of Lourmarin. Also easy reach of famous, medieval hilltop villages and daily markets e.g. Bonnieux, Menerbes, Gordes, Lacoste, and the ocre cliffs of Roussillon and Le Colorado Provencale. 35 mins. antiques and local produce market: L'Isle sur la Sorgue. 20 mins. market towns of Cavaillon, Salon and Pertuis. 35 mins. historic, university cities of Aix and Avignon. Historic sites e.g. St.Remy (Van Gogh), Arles, Les Beaux, the Papal Palace (Avignon), Nimes (Roman amphitheatre),15mins. A7 exit, 40 mins. airport. Nearby riding, kayaking, golf, mountain-biking, beach (Cassis), tennis, swimming lake, language schools, Camargue Nature Reserve, la Route des Vins, La Route de la Lavande, La Route des Peintres.
