Hey skaters, did I mention we have the only indoor professional half pipe in Austin.
We are just 10 minutes away from the Circuit of The Americas. It is home to Formula 1, MotoGP, X Games, RedFest and Austin's largest concert venue the Austin360 Amphitheater. The Travis County Exposition Center is literally just around the corner and it hosts the Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo, the Republic of Texas ROT rally along with multiple shows and events year round. At the end of our road lies the entry to Lake Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park. The park has some of the best fishing in the area and is a great lake to drop in your boat or jet ski.
East Austin Acres is a fabulous place as a home base when enjoying Austin's many events and festivals or as a destination all to itself! A great location for a family reunion or a small wedding.
You may not look like the Attorney that Rocks, but you can live like him. Hi. I'm Maria and I'm married to David Komie. He and I, along with our children, lived in this house for over 15 years. We loved it. It has always been a great place to relax, enjoy friends and be creative. You are probably wondering why we moved out. Our daughter has attended the Austin Waldorf School for 7 years now and plans to be an AWS graduate. We all love the school but we began to hate the commute once it reached 50 plus minutes one way. It was time to move.
Maria Komie purchased this house in 1996
David and I were looking for a home with nature, privacy and space where we could spread our wings. It was the first property our relator showed us from a long list of places to see one day. The house needed a lot of work but the vibe of the place was so nice. We fell in love with it at once. We hopped back in the car to look at more properties. After driving 20 minutes away from Austin we pulled over and stopped the car; called our Realtor and told her we just want to go back to Blue Bluff. She met us there with some roadside tamales to celebrate. David and I walked the entire perimeter of the 9 plus acres that day. It felt like home, like no other place had.
East Austin Acres is a great place to unwind. It has a relaxed and easygoing feeling. I always loved getting home when I lived there. My favorite space in the house when we first bought it was the wide and airy hallway. This home was originally 2 army hospital buildings at Bergstrom Air-force base. The hallway was built extra wide to be able to accommodate 2 gurneys.
The land is super lovely with sweeping views from the decks. I have found evidence that Native American tribes, the Tonkawa or Comanche, lived on the land.
We enjoyed staying at this home. The property was great. We went to the F1 race and it was very convenient for the race and all the restaurants and areas we wanted to visit. The only problem we had was the shower in the master bedroom. The water went everywhere no matter how we placed the curtains. The one thing missing was a corkscrew. The home was clean, property well maintained and I would not hesitate recommending this property to friends
Wonderful house with plenty of space inside and out. The house is fully furnished with nearly all needs available. (only a corkscrew was wanted!) Maria is a helpful host and generous with check in/out times. I would recommend staying at this property if you want the quiet of the country with the convenience of town. A hammock would be a great addition with the huge trees in the yard. Great family get away. Don's BBQ 5 minutes away is delicious for all meal times. Tres Amigos is a bit further, but worth the drive. Walter E Long Lake/Park is within walking distance.
Great house with all nice facilities to make an excellent chill weekend with friends
This place is fantastic. I have nothing negative to say. The Kitchen/Dining/Living room is very large and easily accommodates a large group. The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and well maintained with plenty of towels for showers and the pool. The pool house was an added bonus; very nice to have an extra bed/bath out there. The SPA getts hot quickly and the pool was clean and refreshing. Property is large and away from it all enough to be rowdy, but close enough to town to drive in 10-15 minutes. Overall 10/10, would stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and comfortable when we arrived. The pool area was a great place to relax during the hot summer days. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to get away from the city.
