Not a good place to stay

  • 1 of 5

We tried to stay there in August 6-8 for my sons graduation from Fort Lenordwood! When we got there the place smelled of mildew! The basement where the master bedroom had been flooded the floor was still damp. The smell was so strong we could not stay there! I had my grandchildren with me one being a month old an one having allergies and asthma. He could not breath we tried to contact the owner and the other phone number on the paper on the refrigerator no one answered. We then contacted the company we booked through. They told me to contact the owners about a refund or some kind of settlement. This owner will not contact me back.

Perfect for Our Needs

  • 4 of 5

We booked this rental because our son was graduating from OSUT at Fort Leonard Wood and we had a lot of family attending. This house was perfect for our needs. It housed 10 of us just fine and it allowed us to take our son off of base on family day and just hang out and share a meal together. The location is perfect. Just drive out to the main road and hook a left and you'll be led right to the main gates of Fort Leonard Wood. I contacted the owner several times prior to and during our stay and she responded quickly. Once because we had a flat tire and were going to miss the check out time. Overall I give it a thumbs up.

Perfect for family gatherings!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here while attending family day and graduation at Fort Leonard Wood. Worked so much better than getting numerous hotel rooms, as we all had room to sleep and also sit around and visit. Wasn't fancy but was clean, comfortable, easy to find, and easy to work with the owner. She was so kind to even come by the first evening to see if we needed anything. If have to return to this area, will definitely stay here again.

Very disappointed!

  • 1 of 5

The house had a wet moldy smell. I think the smell was coming from the couch and after looking for the smell we found the underside of a cushion was wet and underneath the cushions was filthy with food and old socks and such. In the downstairs closest there were piles of sheets in baskets, on the floor unfolded. The dryer was jam packed with sheets and towels. The towels all smelled moldy after taking them out of the dryer to use because the cabinets only had a couple of folded towels available. The towels were really rough, a little fabric softener would help that. There was not enough toilet paper for our stay and was told that they only supplied toilet paper for 24 hours then it was up to us to purchase more. The deck out back was not very sturdy and had rungs broke off the side and just was not safe for small children to be out there. There was junk and broken down stuff under the deck, stuff that should be hauled to the dump/landfill. The toilet seat is very loose in the upstairs bathroom and the entire toilet downstairs was loose. Floors were unswept. One of the rock climbers on the bunk bed was just sitting up there not secured and unsafe for small children. It looked really nice in the pictures but reality was not what was advertised. A little effort and TLC would really help this property. Most of the issues are simple fixes if someone would take some interest in it.

Perfect for what we needed

  • 5 of 5

Needed a place to stay for a large group attending the haunted river float at Ruby's Landing. Accommodated us well. Plenty of room for us. Felt like being at home.

Clean and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

This house is a clean comfortable space for hosting you and your family. Cheaper than hotel rooms for everyone! Not a perfect place, but perfectly serviceable. All issues are purely cosmetic, no issues with things that really count, like A/C, cleanliness, laundry, appliances, etc. Basement was nice, had to empty dehumidifiers once. Lots of hot water for showers. If you are looking for a safe, clean, comfortable and roomy place this is it. Comparitable to most inexpensive hotels I've stayed in. No complaints.

About Evangeline McKay

My husband and I both come from military families and we have a family member or close friends graduating from basic here at FLW at least once a year. We also often have friends who need a place to stay as a result of getting orders to a new place . They want a place to stay for the two weeks after they clear their house or before their new home is open to them .

my husband and I moved out of this home into a home on the other side of town. Due to a market downswing we were unable to sell this home.

I am a chaplain assistant in the army national guard and my husband is a youth Paster for FLW. Between our jobs and our friends we still found this extra home was often used by friends and family about once a month.

My cousin is headed for basic training shortly and I know we are going to have about thirty family members coming up. Realizing this my husband and I decided there must be a lot of basic training Soldier's families that were large and didn't want the expense of 5 or 6 hotel rooms when they could rent a home for less money .🇺🇸

A desire to serve our Soldiers families and also help relieve our burden of two mortgages which is a bit more then we bargained for made us decide to list it as a vacation home for those families and also Soldiers and their families that may be on temporary duty here for a few weeks or months.🏠

Why Evangeline McKay chose Saint Robert

Let your Soldier get a taste of home and relax with you. Give them a chance to get away from the Fprt
