Our first stay was awesome and so my husband and I returned for a full week's stay. We loved it! I am running out of adjectives to describe this lovely apartment. It is the bottom level of a historic mansion in Eureka - yet has every modern convenience including full kitchen, DVD library and wifi. It is extremely quiet and private and very very cozy. We have been home a few days and are already checking calendars to see when we can return. This Is quickly becoming our home away from home. You will not find a kinder host! I cannot wait for our third stay!

Everything needed was there and Sandy was very eager to please. I will stay here again. Very reasonably priced, especially compared to the hotels in the area.

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Sandra's cute, cozy, creative & centrally located apartment and it was just as she described it. We had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed was the highlight! Coming home after a long day of sightseeing, it was such a pleasure to have a really comfortable bed and get a great night's sleep. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need, and the washer and dryer was another big bonus! Thank you Sandra for making our vacation a truly wonderful experience. We will definitely stay with you again. We hope all is well with you and your family. Tom & Bobbi, Orlando, FL, 10-2-17

Warm, Inviting and Homey

  • 5 of 5

The location is a quaint and quiet neighborhood. Parking is abundantly available. We were able to park directly in front of the entrance to our unit (which inadvertently is to the side of the mansion). Our host (Sandra) provided a generous fresh fruit basket for our stay which was perfect because we had a long drive and was a little hungry when we arrived. Sandra met us upon arrival, provided a quick tour of our unit and gave us the 'ins and outs' of the town.

I wish we could have just stayed inside our unit, but it was our first visit to Eureka and so we spent our time mostly touring the area- visiting the Farmers Market, shopping, driving through the redwoods, touring the lighthouse, Eureka Main Street Festival, historic Victorian homes, etc.

Best of all- we had an amazing host. She was sweet, kind and helpful, a rare gem.

Home away from home

Sandra couldn't have been a better hostess. The apt was clean and cozy.It met our every need. My husband is recuperating from a stroke and Sandra even had a shower chair he could use. The mansion is beautiful. If you are lucky you may even get a tour along with a narrative of all of the history of the house. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area. Thanks Sandra, our new friend!

About Sandra Peterson

The Peterson's restored the Wright mansion back to the way it was 117 years ago. The lower apartment in the Wright Mansion is large & lovely. Why Sandra Peterson chose Greenside Park

Eureka is one of the loveliest cities in California. We are surrounded by the ancient Redwood Forest but we are a small port also on the Pacific Ocean.

The lower apartment in The Wright mansion is not only huge but is central to Old Town Eureka and all recreation, shopping & restaurants. We are famous

as preservationists not only of our hundreds of old Victorians but for our wildlife

and our wetlands which are world famous for our wild sea birds & sea life.

What makes this apartment unique

The Wright Mansion is one of the oldest huge 'lumber baron' homes in Eureka. At 117 years old, it was restored back exactly to the way it was in 1898. Staying in the apartment at the Wright Mansion, one is living in history. The completely modernized apartment at the Wright mansion was the original servants quarters. It is full of light and central to all that the Redwood Coast can offer.
