About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Bath.Sleeps 8

We have the perfect place to getaway. Head up to the cabin! Relax, enjoy, have fun at your next vacation retreat at our lake place in Polk County, Wisconsin. We call this lake home our cabin. The cabin is just over an hour away from the Twin Cities, on a small recreational lake between Balsam Lake and Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. The cabin was built in 2007 and has all of the comforts of home. The cabin features knotty pine ceilings, pine log railings, a stone fireplace and a stunning 2 floors of windows overlooking the lake.

Our cabin is a story and half with a walk-out basement. It features a great room with 2 stories of windows looking out over the lake. The main level of the cabin has an open floor plan. The kitchen has an eat-in bar with 4 bar stools. We have a 3-season porch with a dining table that comfortably seats six and also looks out over the lake. A handcrafted pine log railing leads up to the loft. The loft has a double bed, two twin beds, a sofa and chair. The sofa and chair overlook the lake.

Outside of the porch is a brick patio for outside sitting and eating, all overlooking the lake. There is a fire pit for evening fires and a small deck for additional seating leading down to the lake. The approach to the lake is very flat, making it easily accessible. At the lake we have 2 docks and a swimming raft. If you like to fish, the fishing is great right off the dock! Sunfish, bass, and perch are prevalent, with an occasional northern. If you like boating, we have a tandem kayak at the cabin that you can use to explore two adjoining lakes. The lake is typically very quiet, particularly on weekdays. Like to bird watch? We regularly see Bald Eagles, Pileated Woodpeckers, humming birds, blue heron, and loons among many others.

If it's raining, we have books, magazines, videos, puzzles, and games on hand. We also have internet. The cabin is a great place to getaway and relax.

About Mike Bradley

Our family has owned this property since 2003. In 2007, we tore down the old cabin and built this cabin, which is really a lake home. We love it! It has been a place that our family of 5 have enjoyed going to at all different times of the year.

We live in the Twin Cities, but love coming north to the cabin whenever we can.

Mike Bradley purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Mike Bradley chose Northern Wisconsin

Our cabin is a great place to getaway and enjoy some quiet time. Our lake is typically very quiet. The exceptions are holiday weekends. Sunday evening through Friday afternoon there will only be a few boats out on the water at one time.

We have a tandem kayak that you can use. Our lake connects to another smaller lake. You can take the kayak through the channel and enjoy both lakes.

The fishing is good. We often have great fishing right off the dock.

Swimming is good. We swim right off the dock or the swimming raft.

If you have a boat, the lake is perfect for water skiing and tubing.

What makes this cabin unique

We like sitting around the firepit at night and looking up at the stars. During the day, we like to sit on the deck overlooking the lake.

The inside of the cabin is rustic. Hand carved pine log railings and knotting pine ceilings. The stone fireplace goes up 2 stories. There are two stories of windows looking over the lake. Very picturesque.

Clean, organized, picture perfect spot on the lake, and easy to get to from the cities

  • 5 of 5

The property is perfectly situated for privacy, yet steps away from the lake and its activities. The house is well maintained with plenty of space, and all the comforts of home. The wildlife there is incredible! Eagles, osprey, hawks loons, turtles, hummingbirds, and herons to name a few. The sun rises were beautiful. Fishing was good. Northerns and good sized Large Mouth Bass. We rented a pontoon and J and K Pontoons, dropped it off, right at the dock, and picked it up! Couldn't be easier. Plenty to do...when not on the water as well...local winery tour and tasting, golfing, hiking, ice cream shoppe, and more. If you forgot something, the local "Jonzy's" store has any anything and everything you can think of. From food to tools. It was a great time and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Lovely Lake home!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our four days at the lake. We needed a place to stay because my husband's dad had just had surgery in Amery and we wanted to also bring our children from Oklahoma to experience a summer at the lake. They loved every minute of it! The kayak was their favorite with fishing and swimming coming in second. The cabin is beautiful and much attention was paid to every detail. Every room has a breathtaking view of the lake. The owner was great to work with. We highly recommend this beautiful home!

Great Girls Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our weekend tremendously! The cabin was very clean when we arrive. There was more than enough space for everyone to sleep comfortably. We enjoyed playing games. The dock gave us the ability to catch fish without having a boat. We loved kayaking around the lake. We took advantage of the close proximity to restaurants, Balsam Lake, and the movie theater. The bonfire pit was amazing. It was the perfect place to spend a weekend away.

Amazing property!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 5 days in July. It was very hot! But it was perfect to hang out in the lake all day and stay cool at night in the air conditioning. There was a kayak and various floaties. We were on the kayak every day. It was also nice to lay out on the lower patio. Nice amount of sun and shade all day. The views from inside the house were amazing. It was very nice to wake up every day with coffee and that view!! There was a storm on of the night we were there and the owner emailed to let us know. You can tell they want the best experience for you! They also had a little cabin journal with entries from former guests... That was cool to read:) We highly recommend this cabin! It had everything we needed. Good times!

Beautiful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cabin, in a lovely area. The lake is small but nice and the cabin has an incredible view of the lake from most rooms. My friends and I came for a long weekend and enjoyed every minute of our time. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is great for cooking in - lots of room for a few people to be in the kitchen at once that is.

We played some of the board games and enjoyed the patio while at home, and also went exploring in the nearby towns of Amery and Comstock (GREAT store there with Wisconsin cheeses and Italian meats).

Our cabin is located in Polk County, Wisconsin. It is about 10 minutes from Amery, Balsam Lake and Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. We spend most of our time at the lake when we are there. We love the view of the lake from the cabin.

There are several restaurants within a short driving range. We enjoy going to the Blacksmith near Bone Lake. For a more upscale experience Indianhead Supper Club is very popular in Balsam Lake. Beautiful view of Balsam Lake. The Top Spot is another of our favorites.

We are not too far from Wisconsin's Interstate State Park. Interstate State Park has some great trails many of which overlook the scenic St. Croix river. You can also take a paddle boat tour on the St. Croix. Across the river in Minnesota is Taylor's Falls. You can check out Spirit Mountain for some fun.

To the east of us is Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. There is a casino in town. There is also a cool antique store and a grocery store.

To the south of us is Amery, Wisconsin, where there is a grocery store and more restaurants. There is also an old movie theater that runs old-time movies. We like to go to Elle's Ice Cream Parlor. Right on main street.

Looking for bait? We go to Jonzy's. About a mile away. You can pick up bait, refreshments, and some groceries. They seem to have just about everything.
