Why Thomas Ploskina chose Nuevo Arenal
It was an early retirement for me. I enjoy the climate and the natural beauty of Costa Rica. The simplicity of the life here known as "Pura Vida"
What makes this Estate unique
Nature and clean air and a perfect climate. Wildlife abounds! We are next to the largest lake in Costa Rica. Close to active Volcano Arenal and many adventures such as hot springs, Canopy Zip Lines, Waterfalls and many more activities related to this beautiful lake. Wake boarding, Skiing, fishing and boating.

Amazing Views and serene setting
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Maria is very friendly and responded promptly. We would stay here again.
Beautiful jungle stay
We had 15 people (four families) and had a wonderful stay. The views were spectacular and Tom and María were great sources of knowledge and recommendations!
A Charming Arenal Area Estate with Access to a Lot of Activities or Peaceful Relaxation
Casa Grande, the main home, and the three nearby cottages provided plenty of space for our family of 17 for the four days/nights we visited the area. The setting is beautiful with very lovely views of lake Arenal and the grounds are equally pretty.
There is much to do in the vicinity. We chose day trips to Arenal Volcano and hot springs/ zip-lining one day, the Chocolate Tour in La Fortuna area another and Monte Verde National Biological Reserva on a third. Maria Louisa was most helpful in advising us of opportunities in the area and even made reservations for our party for one of those events. We also had a late arrival and Maria Louisa contracted a local driver to transport them from Liberia to La Fortuna (on our day 2) to meet up with us. Maria was terrific and her help much appreciated!
Casa Grande is still very beautiful and well maintained. The other cottages, though older and smaller are also well cared for. We really didn’t allow ourselves time to use the pool but relaxed in the very nice jacuzzi/hot-tub on a couple of evenings.
A water problem, which affected the supply to a couple of the cottages, did not dampen (pun intended) our enthusiasm and the owners, Tom and Maria, worked diligently with others to try to resolve the problem.
Arenal Springs Villas by the Lake turned out to be a very good choice for our party and I am sure Tom and Maria work hard to satisfy all of their clients.
The property was emaculate, well kept and in a beautiful location.
The Arenal property was dynamic -- we had 20 people and comfortably slept all in the houses on the property. From the main house, especially in the morning, we saw wildlife and great views of the lake! The house was in a location that allowed us to travel to the La Fortuna waterfall and Monteverde Cloud Forest in a reasonable time. Maria, our host, was very professional and sweet. Upon arrival she went through the house and property with us and made our departure very easy.
Thanks you for your review. Sorry I was not there to greet you but my wife Maria said that you were wonderful guests and she really enjoyed your company. Glad you had such a great time. Hope you can come back again some day. Thanks for singing a happy birthday to my wife also. Regards, Tom
Wonderful Villa's with amazing hospitality!
Our trip to Costa Rica was fantastic and we can’t wait to return because of the wonderful hospitality we were shown at Arenal Springs Villas. The accommodations were just as described and met our every need. The best part was being able to tap into Maria’s expertise to interpret for us, make recommendations and book things to do. This was invaluable and made our vacation even more enjoyable. We loved our New Years Eve dinner (those cookies were fantastic) and seeing white faced monkeys directly from our villa was amazing. From my first contact to our final goodbyes, Tom and Maria's warmth and helpfulness made us feel at home giving us many wonderful memories of our family trip.
I will be sure to tell our friends about Arenal Springs Villa’s and highly recommend them.
Perfect for a family of 18! Enjoyed by All.
My family of 18 rented the entire estate for a week. Ages 7 to 62. We were impressed with the accommodations. Plenty of room for everyone. The description and pictures of the estate are very accurate. Each house provided excellent accommodations.
We spent the week with a different activity each day- zip lining with Sky Adventures, multi adventure day pass at the Springs Resort & Spa, Cultour and a day at the beach. Although it rained off and on throughout the week, the activities continued and were great!
Just beware that the trip from San Jose can be lengthy compared to Liberia, but we found the airfare to be much more economical from San Jose .
I left the best asset for last which is Tom and Maria. Communications prior to the trip made for easy planning. Maria will help with transportation, making reservations for excursions and restaurants and is attentive throughout the week regarding any problems or questions. She is very friendly and welcoming.
My family definitely learned the meaning of Pura Vida!
