You’ll love the weather with average summer temperatures of 74 degrees. Near the Santa Monica Beach and Santa Monica Promenade (both 5 min drive, 10 min bike), Venice Beach (10-15 minute drive), Beverly Hills (20 minute drive), Hollywood (25-30 minute drive), Malibu (15-20 minute drive) and Disneyland (50 – 75 minute drive). Other attractions include Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, Staples Center, Nokia Theater, Forum, Melrose Ave., Rodeo Dr. and Pacific Coast Highway.
Take in the view of the world class jogging/biking median on San Vicente Blvd. and walk/jog to the popular ‘Santa Monica’ stairs.

Kitchen - Large open kitchen contiguous with the family room. The kitchen has all modern appliances, 6-burner stove, double ovens, microwave built into the large island. Bar stools at the island allow you to chat and cook at the same time with family/friends.
Family room – lots of couch space and open to the kitchen with a 60-inch flat screen. Microsoft Xbox 360 game console, DVD player, Verizon FIOS TV with all the movie channels. Sonos speakers for music.
Guest bedroom – queen size bed in the guest bedroom with dresser/drawer. This room has a large closet that contains the washer/dryer and cleaning supplies.
Office/2nd TV room – this room contains a desk if you have any work, homework or desire to read/write at a desk. Comfortable chairs and a 42 inch flat screen with Verizon FIOS system.
Dining Room – comfortably seats 8 in this classic room.
Formal Living Room - if there is one spot to relax with a cup of coffee and a book, this is it. Peaceful, cozy, yet elegant. This large room can be made for one reader or for gathering for cocktails before dinner.
Bathroom – full modern bathroom with shower/bathtub.
Master Bedroom – the cavernous master bedroom has a first part with the king size bed, nightstands and dresser along with a 32-inch flat screen TV. Adjoining/adjacent is a second room with a chaise lounge for relaxing, reading at night and extra space in general. There is a large walk-in closet for your usage as well. Contiguous with the bedroom is the master bathroom with a walk-in shower, dual sinks and separated toilet.
Bedroom #2 – spacious bedroom with a queen size bed in girls bedroom with closet space.
Bedroom #3 – great space bedroom with two twin beds in this boys room that overlooks the backyard.

We are a young family that lives in Santa Monica, kids go to school in Santa Monica and work in Santa Monica. We also grew up in Santa Monica. I moved back after college at UCSB and my wife moved here shortly after going to San Diego State. We chose Santa Monica because of it's mix of local community sense mixed with beach culture, great restaurants and lots of arts/entertainment attractions.

We lucked out with this property. We got an original house that has charm of an English Cottage but has been massively remodeled inside and in the backyard. We love the mix of older home on the outside and modern inside. The property is spacious with all of the modern amenities you could need so that you will enjoy the comforts of your home while being in a fantastic location not only within Los Angeles, but within Santa Monica. While very nice, it's not pretentious at all and is perfect for a family or multiple couples looking to feel that mix of vacation and comfort.
We chose our property because we love the location. You get clean air being by the ocean and the peacefulness of a local family neighborhood. We can walk to dinner and bike to the beach and yet get away from both to our own little oasis. It's great having two living rooms, one geared for adults and one for the family plus having the office to the side if you want some quiet time or your own TV for an evening while the kids have a different one.
We are a short walk to the prestigious Montana Avenue, home of many local restaurants, boutique shopping, bar, spa/massage/nail salons, ice cream/pastry/yogurt shops, coffee shops, juice bars, fitness studios, grocery stores and local schoolyards.
Near the beach, you can take a 5 minute bike ride to the Palisades Park bluffs overlooking the ocean or 8 minutes to the beach by bike (less than 5 by car).
Santa Monica Pier with its famous amusement park, restaurants, pier fishing and arcade is about a 12-15 minute bike ride and 5-10 minute drive.
3rd Street Promenade - home of restaurants, shopping, movie theaters and the Santa Monica Mall is about a 5 minute drive and 12-15 minute bike ride.
Also a short drive away is the surreal Venice Beach and Abbott Kinney Blvd ranging from craft booths, incense vendors, painters and colorful street performers to hip restaurants, bars and unique boutique shops. Also very close to trendy '3rd St Promenade' with retail chain stores and Movie Theaters, Jazz clubs, Bars, Discos, etc. Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Hollywood are a car ride away but not close enough to feel like you're caught in a tourist trap.
