My family has been coming to Big Bear since I was a child. It's our favorite year-round family get-a-way for skiing & snowboarding in the Winter and fishing & hiking in the Summer. One of our favorite things to do is take the Sky Chair to the top of Snow Summit in the Summer to have lunch with a great view of the lake and mountains, go hiking and to watch the mountain bikers ...
Pam Davis purchased this cabin in 2012
Location, location, location! The spacious bedrooms, washer & dryer and dishwasher (which are perfect for extended stays), garage and the large flat driveway (which make it easy to enter/exit the property) made this the perfect vacation home for our family and friends.
There is always something to do at our cabin. We were made for fun and relaxation!
Our family recently stayed at this property for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The home has every amenity possible. Pam and her husband have furnished the property with everything you will possible need down to and including spices for cooking! During our stay we had our own family "Olympics" playing darts, ping pong, basketball, and foosball. We loved the location as it was close to shopping and the golf course which we used often. We highly recommend their home as a nice get away for a few days or weeks!
My family and I spent 3 days up in Big Bear and we had a great time. Pam was really thoughtful in all the items she had in the house. She had games for all ages, wifi, cable, and every kitchen item you could need. My wife and I were very impressed by the level of detail. House is a bit older and is in need of a few updates (upstairs bathroom shower head is about chest high and I am 6 foot) but overall it suited our needs. We were very surprised by the amount of traffic on the street. To the point where we could not leave the windows open at night upstairs cause of the amount of cars driving by. Not sure if that was normal but something to think about. There was a house across the street being built which was noisy to sit out on the front deck. I assume these two things will change depending on the seasons but are a couple things we would have liked to know going into it but overall it was a nice stay.
This property was wonderful, and we would definitely rent again. We stayed from a Thurs-Sun for 4th of July weekend. Pam was so pleasant to deal with, made renting painless, and very prompt in responding to questions. She also offered suggestions for kayak and bicycle rentals, which we followed and also seamless. Kitchen is well stocked with items making it so easy to prepare meals, which was nice for us as people from our group were arriving at various times, and we did not want the hassle of trying to coordinate meeting up to eat out on a busy holiday weekend. Place is relaxing; enjoyed the back patio for coffee and conversation in the morning, and iced tea/drinks in the evening. Property is on quiet street, close to lake and town. Highly recommended.
This is so hard to describe in words...but here it goes.
Upon arrival the house felt like home. Everything you could think of to make your home away from home comfortable, enjoyable and stress-free. We really enjoyed the extra games like ping pong and foosball. Fun, fun, fun!
The house location in Big Bear is central to things-to-do but tucked away enough to be nice and quite. The local wildlife rehabilitation center is up the street and is a great place to see the animals. The biking is great and accessible to trails.
Nice home to rent with the family or with couples. The kitchen is large enough for cooking and having helpers join you!
Everything about the property was fantastic from the double driveway to the disposable lasagna pans because parking is difficult enough in the winter and everyone knows no matter how much you plan your vacation checklist, you always forget something! We had a full house of 8 but we also had 10 other friends staying near by and when we all got together for a spaghetti dinner it worked out to our advantage that the garage was full of games, tables and darts so the kids had a place to get away from the adults and the adults had room to hang out and talk without all the noise of 9 children! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!! Many thanks to the property owners for a wonderful ski weekend experience :-)
We had the most amazing stay at this cabin. My friends and I went there about a week ago, and Pam really has everything there you could possibly wish for!! There is a beautiful fireplace, some games, TVs in each room with plenty of movies, books, arts and craft supplies, extra towels, extra blankets, so many beds, and plenty of room for a good sized group of people.
Bear mountain is only about a mile away, so we actually walked over in the morning to avoid parking. We then learned that there is a shuttle that leaves/drops you off near the deli right across the street, which is very convenient, so we were able to take it back.
There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer which made things very convenient, and we were able to use the garage to put on our chains for the drive down. (Conditions got a little crazy!) What a wonderful weekend, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking!
