This house celebrates and embraces the wonderful diversity of this great country. We welcome with arms stretched wide, our brothers and sisters of all races, creeds and sexual orientation. Together we will not build walls but a magnificent future for our children and future generations.
Our delightful cottage sits in the middle of a beautiful garden just minutes away from the city center. Located in a quiet historic district close to Brickell, the Health District, the Grove ,Wynwood and 8 minutes away from South Beach. The ciottage has a queen bed, a sitting area,, TV (Direct TV), and a large closet. We have a comfortable kitchen and a great and irresistibly romantic area for al fresco dining. Public transportation is close by- metro rail, buses and trolley- . You can also bicycle to Downtown, Wynwood, the Health District and even the Grove. Rental bicycles can be found at the Publix supermarket by the river. Sewell park is close by and provides a beautiful experience of the Miami River. We have a deep love for the property and have enjoyed living among the flowers, the birds, the lizards, the cats and our huge mango tree (very Miami) while at the same time being so close to the Arsht center, the PAMM, and Rosa de La Cruz, Rubell and Margulies art collections. For baseball fans, we are located half a block away from the ball park. We also go to the Tower theatre a delightful space that screens wonderful movies.
We have a very green street with a beautiful canopy. Grove Park has been federally designated historical and we are very proud of our neighborhood. It is quiet, peaceful, friendly and safe. Easy access to 836 East and West, 395 ( Miami Beach) I-95 North and South. We have a couple of restaurants which are colorful and good, and a great gym by the UM medical center across the bridge on the other side of the river.

I love nature, beautiful things, kindness, intelligence, generosity, a sense of humor creativity and honor. I love good architecture, kayaking, horses and my cat, Clinton. I also love my dog Koko but I have to confess a weakness for Clinton. The both of them are so sweet and funny. I am a World Music aficionado with a particular interest in African pop. I enjoy traveling and in particular I am crazy about India. I want to visit Turkey, Burma, Turkistan and Prague and will do so soon.
Ines Cortes purchased this cottage in 2002
Our home was built in 1926. It has the original pine wood floors, doors, handles, crown moldings and windows. I love the music the windows make when you open a close them. The mango tree is majestic even though it lost half its crown in a hurricane prior to 2002. The fruit is delicious and plentiful. It reminds me of places back home where music is played under a big tree and there is always plenty of food and drink for everyone. I have planted a lot of greenery in the property. Kind of hit and miss but I have a sabal palm that is to die for - It makes up for all the ones that did not make it. We have a front porch that overlooks the street and it is shady and delicious during late afternoons.
When I first saw this house I knew I belonged to it. The way the house sat on the lot was gracious and light. Every detail from the exquisite cracked tile in the front porch to the glass handles and the keys to the rooms enamored me. Living in a city that has a fancy for anything that is shiny and new, I realized I had found a piece of Miami's history and I wanted to preserve it.
My husband and I had the pleasure of enjoying a pre cruise night in this beautiful cottage nestled in a tropical garden paradise where orchids danced among twinkle lights as evening descended on Miami...very romantic, indeed! Inez was helpful with all our inquiries; she is the epitome of a gracious hostess. We loved the careful attention to the many details that made our short stay comfortable and memorable, including fresh coffee for the French Press, yummy granola, and juice. Her style is artistic, her gardening skills legendary (I gave up counting the different plants), her heart warm and caring..we felt like we were staying with a dear friend. As I waited for Uber in her front porch hammock I told my husband that the only downside was our stay was too short! Gracias, Inez! Warm Regards, Patsy & Larry
When arriving Ines met us and right away she felt like your mom. Super accommodating and had fresh juice, milk, cereal and water all in the kitchen. We were there for baseball and having not to pay for parking and only being a 3min walk to Marlins Park was perfect. The cottage was clean well stocked and the bed was comfy. We would not hesitate to stay with Ines again. Perfect host in our books!!!
Ines is a wonderful and delightful host. She was beyond accommodating and informative about the area. Everyplace that she recommended was absolutely great!
The cottage was comfortable, clean, very spacious awesomely decorated, and surrounded by a great garden of trees, plants and even iguanas. The bathroom worked great with plenty of hot water and the kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, granola, milk and water and offers all the amenities to cook.
The location is close to the airport, highway and little Havana.
This is a charming little backyard "cottage" surrounded by the owner's lovingly tended gardens. It's in a central and generally quiet location making it easy to get to different parts of the city; is also not far from the airport. We had a comfortable stay here for over a week while we explored Miami using ride shares. The owner, Ines, is a warm and attentive hostess, and provided lots of information about interests we expressed: food, music, art, transportation, etc. We enjoyed several backyard conversations with her, and she made sure we had whatever we needed. Highly recommended!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and inviting. There was coffee and granola, so we didn't have to shop our first night. Everything was very comfortable and our hostess was very helpful.
Inez's cottage was delightful and so much more than I expected. The location was perfect to main street Little Havana where we spent most of our time. The cottage is very clean and well supplied. Ines found my glasses after we left and promptly mailed them to me at my next location. Thank You for a wonderful stay.
Just across the bridge the University of Miami has a fantastic Wellness Centre. You are allowed to go the first 3 days free and after that the charge will be $15 x day. Our home is literally close to everything ! Wynwood, Brickell, Health District, South Beach and downtown. Also we have the entrance to 836 and 1-95 just a few blocks away making any destination easier to reach.
