The cabin was built by my Dad and I in 2005. It is 12 x 24 with a half loft and a full bathroom. The loft is accessed by steep ladder/stairs and has one double bed. Downstairs, there is the bathroom, the kitchen, and the living room with a futon that pulls out into a double bed. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready to cook in. There are tons of windows for letting in the light and staring out at the magical view. The fire pit right off the front porch is perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying the long evenings.
I was born and raised in Homer, and now live in the Kenton neighborhood of Portland, OR with my wife. I work as an ASL interpreter and visit Homer as often as I can as most of my family still lives there. I miss calling the cabin home but I'm happy to share it with travelers from all around the world!
This was a great little cabin with all the amenities of home. The loft window provided an epic view of the glaciers across the bay and the bed was so cozy! I would definitely stay here again.
This cabin was the best! Had everything we needed and then some. Even came with an awesome cat that we were sad to leave behind lol. Had food in the cuboards and fridge from the previous renters and we left lots too for the next, so check before going to store. Can't wait t come back but will have a car next time cuz it costs $20 just to go to the spit.
Love the view of the mountain and wild landscaping. Conveniently located to Homer. Clean and well maintained. Had a great time!
This was our last stop on a two week vacation, and our favorite. Everything was just as described. We especially appreciated having the kitchen and the warm welcome. Wish we could have stayed longer!!
The cabin was nice. I should have called and spoke with Carmen prior to booking. We were in town for a wedding and this particular location was not really set up for that. There was no table to sit at and eat or just visit. There was only a mirror over the bathroom sink, a full length would have been nice as well as a hair dryer. The cabin is perfect if you are in town fishing and do not plan on spending much time there. There is a newer cabin in front of this one so the views are exactly as they have listed on the site. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the site, it just wasn't what we had expected or needed. I would recommend this if you are visiting Homer to fish and mainly sleep. It would be nice if the windows had some type of darkening shades on them.
