The St. Charles Streetcar will pick you up just two blocks away to carry you to Oak Street or Maple street just 5 stops away. Continue on the streetcar through the Garden District all the way to downtown and the French Quarter.

I am a migrant film worker making movies in New Orleans. My partner Marnie and I came here from Hollywood to work on a film and fell in love with the city. At first we we're VRBO guests, now we're VRBO hosts. We split our time between L.A. and LA. We love to travel and spend any time we can in exotic foreign places. We enjoy meeting people from all over and hosting them in the fabulous city of New Orleans. The culture, food and history are as rich and exciting as any we've found in the world.

Why Rodney & Marnie chose Wairarapa

While our neighborhood is quiet and comfortable, it offers easy access to all the fun and festivities of New Orleans. I especially love going to Riccobono's Panola Cafe just a block away. Evenings you can walk or take the streetcar to Carrollton Station for cocktails then carry on to Jacques-Imo's or the Mellow Mushroom for dinner. When in the mood for some more serious frivolity, the French Quarter is only a 15 minute drive. For family fun, Audubon Park and the zoo are close by. We love this neighborhood, so will you!

Beautiful house, perfect for families to share a wonderful vacation in New Orleans!

We had a WONDERFUL experience with this house! This is a beautiful home in a quiet, uptown New Orleans neighborhood with a fantastic porch overlooking a park. It is minutes from grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants, Costco, and the French Quarter. Street cars are just a few blocks away. The house was very clean, the decorations and furniture are lovely, and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen has everything needed. A past review mentioned “not enough pots” but the hosts more than made up for that with brand new pans and pots in the cupboards! Most people eat out when in New Orleans, but we were hosting a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner so needed to cook. The owners are wonderful – easy to email and text, and helped us immediately when we had a small hiccup with reservations. I would highly recommend their home!

Charming historical home perfect for a large group!

We rented this home for 4 adult couples to stay in for a long wedding weekend. It easily accommodated the group with plenty of room for everyone. The home has all the charm of an old house but with all the necessary modern conveniences and stylish updates. The street car is an easy walk and for $1.25 it takes you all the way to the French Quarter. We had a great stay and I would highly recommended this property if you have a group!

House infested with roaches

We stayed in the house for a bachelorette weekend . Upon arriving ,the house looked great, but things quickly turned sour . We saw many roaches big and small in the kitchen , living room , and bedrooms . At 2am we were packing up our things to get out of Dodge . The second star is because the owners were nice enough to move us to another home that they own that was newer , nicer, and didn't have roaches . The owner said they thought the roach problem was taken care of but it was not .

Owner's Response: The best response we can make to this review is to ask potential guests to read the vast preponderance of positive reviews for our house. After this experience, we closed the house for 3 weeks to do extensive pest eradication. We've checked the house every day (and night) for two weeks and saw absolutely no roaches. When we accepted our next guest just a week ago, there were no reports of roaches and we got another glowing review for this wonderful house. We keep a clean and well-maintained house. We have a contract with a pest control company and have the property serviced every month. Judging the totality of reviews, it is clear that our efforts keep the vast majority of guests very happy with our house. Unfortunately, this guest was the one out of hundreds who had a bad experience.

Perfect house for our stay in NOLA

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Spruce Street. The decor is darling, the bedrooms are all so well done and it was a great place for 8 women to spend the weekend for a conference in NOLA. The house had everything we needed. Beautiful place. Thank you!

Location, price, and location!

A very nice stay in a house that slept eight very comfortable. Full kitchen! Smart TVs and cable plus darn good wifi. Big dining table and a fully stocked kitchen on utensils. Washer/dryer. No complaints! Parking was good. Three blocks from St Charles Street Car. We would rent again. Our questions were answered in minutes. A true find
