A great place to stay with many places of interest to visit within a short drive. Supermarkets are within 20 minutes drive. Peacefull and quiet, but not isolated.
this gite has the best views and the nicest owners you could ever meet and only we love Richard & Margaret we would have kidnaped their lovely dog just a joke
On our arrival we were greeted by Margaret and Richard who were very helpful with showing the house and amenities to us and then were more than happy to spend some time recommending different things to do and places to visit.
The location of the house is just beautiful, over looking the river with views towards the road and railway bridges, and out of the village (not very far, with restaurant, café and boulangerie) on a quiet road in an Idyllic spot.
The house and gardens are very well kept, giving lots of options for sitting outside either in the sun or shade or in the large living room and dinning area with TV's in both.
This is a perfect rental to get away from the world and forget your troubles, but not to far from villages and larger towns for the hussle and bussle of markets, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets.
We would definitely recommend this rental and will be looking to return, hopefully in the not to distant future.
On our arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome by Margaret and Richard who showed us around their property (whilst our children were already exploring the tub!). They told us about the local amenities and sight seeing places to visit which was very useful.
The property is clean and well equipped (my husband loved using the mop!), also has fresh linen and towels. It has the most spectacular views over the Dordogne to wake up to or relax over with a glass of wine.
It is a very tranquil and relaxing place to visit. We definitely recommend this property and will definitely be back (hopefully not too soon)
We were met on arrival by a friendly welcome from Richard and Margaret, the property owners, with a very welcome cup of tea and a useful chat which set us up nicely with shopping sightseeing and local amenity information. The views from the property are unlikely to be bettered anywhere on the Dordogne as the site has unobstructed elevated views along the river with Tremolat just beneath and forest all around. The house itself is modern and comfortable and the sitting room is large and luxurious. The garden has different seating areas both in and out of the sun with changeing aspects of the view and a small pool. The local road network is narrow and very trickey to negotiate so a satnav is reccomended.Quiet but not isolated with Bergerac and Perigueux both only 40 minutes away and hundreds of tourist attractions in between. An ideal base for exploring the Dordogne region. We came away feeling well rested.Mike&Mary Cork.Ireland
Our first impression peace and tranquillity of location beautiful view of Valley. Richard and Margaret were very helpful and welcoming.
Property very spacious and clean.
Would definitely rent this property again.
Friendly, helpful hosts, excellent location, short walk into Tremolat with good restaurants and delightful area to explore.
Lovely sunny garden and plunge pool, nice house bur small bedrooms.
Tremolat is a peaceful village on the river Dordogne, with about 800 inhabitants. Half an hours drive east of Bergerac, with other towns 20 to 30 minutes away.
When you arrive in Tremolat, pass the church on your right, then turn left past the boulangerie, continue past the camp site on your left then start driving uphill. We are the 2nd to last house on the left with a conifer hedge and green gates. If you pass all of the houses there is a turning area,---- going downhill we are the 2nd house on the right.
Other Activities: Sunbathing, Sightseeing, Fine cuisine, Excellent wines Boating, canoeing .
Golf: There are several golf courses within an hours drive from the property.
