average rating of 1.6666666 based on 3 reviews

Ok for family, great location, very worn and not well cleaned.

  • 2 of 5

The layout of the condo worked great for our family of 5 (3 kids, 2, 6 & 8 yr old). Furniture worn but comfortable. Beds were comfortable enough. We knew from other reviews that the place was dated and worn which didn't bother us too much but it had not been cleaned well. Several dead cockroaches which should have easily been seen and picked up by any cleaning service. Black mold throughout master bedroom closet. Toilet had not been cleaned. Rug has a lot of stains and pillow shams also had many stains. Location was great but for the price, could find a better, cleaner spot.

We knew what to expect from the previous reviews of the property and it lived up to those. We've stayed all over the island and love Kiawah, fortunately the destination was worth the less than great accommodations. Had a few large bugs, beds were not comfortable, Cable TV was out, outdated and unkept.

Memorial Day - Dirty - Shabby Property

  • 1 of 5

My sister and niece and I met at Kiawah Island over Memorial Day weekend for a quick getaway. This property is outdated, worn out and shabby. The property needs a major update. The tile in the kitchen is cracked in numerous places and the tile in the dining room has much of the finish worn off. All the woodwork including bathroom vanities were in poor condition. Around the toilets on the floor in the bathrooms are brown rings and the main bath drain (the whole part) was setting out on the side of the bath tub. The sofa and love seat and chair in the living room are newer, the carpet was okay but is buckling in spots. The yellow hanging chair on the porch is so mildewed and dirty you would not want to touch it. The fake plant on the porch is old and dirty with many of the leaves off and placed in the base. There is mildew on the walls above the windows in the kitchen and bathrooms. This property is dirty, all the vents had cobwebs, the screens and windows are dirty with cobwebs and who knows what else. The sliding door window in the master bedroom has the seal broken on one of the windows and is full of condensation. The bedspread and pillows in the master bedroom had yellow spots all over them. The closets in 2 of the bedrooms were so full of junk that you could not use them. The kitchen is a hodgepodge mess of dishes and the counter top has numerous holes. The outside of this unit is covered in cobwebs. Thank heavens we were there for just 2 nights and did not plan on eating there. If I had brought my children or grandchildren and was there for a week, I would of walked away. When checking out we did make comments and they stated we needed to call maintenance. We did discuss this when we entered the unit but as we were just sleeping there for 2 nights, we decided why bother. This property needs much more than what maintenance can solve with a visit. That being said, the location is a great place to be, we enjoyed the beach and the restaurants we visited were great. I would go back to Kiawah Island, but not at this location. There were no reviews of the property for VRBO on-line and I learned a lesson, not to rent without reviews to go by.
