Fantastic for family vacation
We shared this house with another family for a week-long stay in Kiawah. The house is beautifully maintained and suited our needs perfectly. We will look forward to renting again in the future!
We rented this home for a girls weekend, and it had ample space for spreading out, relaxing, and having personal space. The bedrooms are cozy, and the master bath is very large. We all could have fit in the shower together. The Kitchen/Dining/Living room area was perfect for congregating to have fun. The Porch would be a little cozy if you wanted a good conversation circle including many more than 5-6 people.
The house is need of some repairs and TLC. In some ways this was a comfort because we weren't as worried about messing something up. However, if you're planning to rent sometime in 2016-2017, I'd ask whether or not anything has been refurbished. The dishwasher is not that great, so check the dishes (especially wine glasses) before you use them the first time. We were also expecting the kitchen to have a few more basics than it did. Be sure to bring Salt & Pepper as well as your own Wine Bottle Opener.
Also, the house is separated from Kiawah Island Parkway by about 30 ft of woods, so the traffic can be heard clearly, and you're less than .25m from the island fire station (this became very clear to us about 4am one morning). Its about a 5min bike ride to the beach, and only .3 miles from The Sanctuary, so thats nice!
Considering what we paid, and how much house it is for the money - its a good value. However, if we had paid much more I'd have rated this as 2 stars.
