About this property

Rome Is Home: You In The Heart Of The Eternal City

Wonderful fully furnished one-bedroom apartment with a breath-taking view on the rooftops. The keywords could be: sunny, quiet and elevator (all rarities in this area). But many more can be added!

Awarded as a 'Favorite Location', 'Recommended Rental', 'Gold Top Vacation Rental', and with a 5 Star Rating on the best holiday rentals websites, our home is just a few steps from Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona, but located on a quiet street of the historical center. Just the perfect apartment for who wants to experience the very heart of the Eternal City.

The address: via dei Chiavari. An elegant and reserved street right in the heart of Rome, a few steps from Campo dei Fiori and Piazza Navona. The palace where the flat is located was built in the 1200s on the ruins of the stage of 'Pompey's Theater' - Rome's first theatre from 55 b.c. Recently, the building has been finely renovated and during the process the technicians have brought back to light some very beautiful frescos from the 1200s which are now visible on the ceiling of the entrance hall.

The flat is placed on a high 3rd floor (high 4th by US standards) and is serviced by an elevator (a true rarity in buildings of this area). It's full of light and from its large windows you can enjoy a lovely view of the rooftops of the historical city center.

The apartment is over 60 sq. meters (about 650 sqf). From the front door, you get into an entrance, and then you enter a large living space that opens to the other rooms. Everything has been renovated in the most elegant way, with handmade Tuscany tiles on the entire apartment's floor.

The living space is virtually divided into two areas: the lounge and the dining area. Here a beautiful antique Italian dining table can be expanded to easily sit up to six guests. While in the living area, sitting on the sofa you can enjoy the sunset on the rooftops through a beautiful large window. Moreover, if you need, the sofa can be transformed into a very comfortable queen size bed for your visiting family and friends.

The bedroom reserves another incredible sight: the original 1200s roof tiles and woodwork have been perfectly kept through the centuries and constitute today's ceilings' finishing!
On the less historical side, here you find a nice king-size bed, a very large in-wall closet, a writing desk, and a private entrance to the bathroom.

The bathroom has two independent entrances both from the living area as well as en-suite from the bedroom. Here you find an elegant white and blue handmade tile work on the walls, the handbasin, the w.c, a comfortably large shower cabin (sorry, no tub), and – following the Italian tradition - the 'bidet'.

The kitchen displays the same tile work as the bathroom and another hint to our history: the working surface is made of travertine marble - the same material used to build the Colosseum and most of the ancient palaces of the city. Logically, here you'll find all common appliances but also a washing machine with a dryer (a very useful, but not so common appliance in Italian homes). The windows here are made of specially hand-blown glass and they open on a tiny, cozy backyard, giving another view of the rooftops around.

Overall the flat is elegantly furnished with antique as well as modern furniture, original paintings, and artworks on the walls. The rooms are intended to offer a pleasant balance between full and open space, leaving to you the eventuality to add your personal touch to your new home.

Moreover, the apartment enjoys an independent gas heating system, an armored front door, a safe, double-glazed wooden windows, a loft storage space over the kitchen, several cabinets, a TV, telephones, wi-fi internet connection, vacuum, hairdryer, etc.

This apartment is the only property we rent out: we are not an agency. We are a family of artists, this has been our home until our daughter was born, then we decided to move to the countryside. We still come back to this apartment now and then, and we still consider it our home, even though we have guests staying there most of the time.

We'll respond, generally within 24 hours, sometimes within moments. If we don't get back to you after three business days, it means that due to unexpected technical trouble, your email didn't get to us or our answer didn't get to you. In that case, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Rome for a Month
Apartment was in a well maintained and safe building on a great street. Massimo was very attentive. He checked on us several times, which was appreciated.

8/10 Good

Very convenient apartment
Excellent position, spotlessly clean. Kitchen a bit cramped. Can be a bit noisy at night. Close to many major attractions Owners were in Rome, so were able to show us around the apartment. Was rather expensive compared with other apartments.

Fantastico
This apartment is perfectly located for access to all central Rome sites, activities, and piazzas. It is beautifully sun-lit, comfortably furnished, and welcoming with all necessary amenities included. We traveled as a twosome with a 2-week stay. During that time, the owners arranged for their caretaker to meet us upon arrival at the apartment and to change the linens, and the owners arranged for a timely and responsible driver to pick us up at the airport and to return us to the airport for our flight back to Boston: A convenient and stress-free getaway. I highly recommend this property for a vacation rental, without qualification, and I hope to return for a stay as soon as feasible.
