This oceanfront villa features beautiful direct views of the ocean. Guests enjoy free access to the community pool. With two bedrooms and two baths, this villa can accommodate up to 4 guests. The living room has a flat screen TV with a DVD player and access to the screened porch. The fully equipped kitchen features granite counters and tile floors. The dining area has seating for six.
The master suite has queen bed, TV, and private bath. The second bedroom has two twins, TV, and access to a hall bath.
Each Mariners Walk Villa includes: free parking, screened porch or deck, free access to community swimming pool & community charcoal grills, initial supply of linens and towels, washer and dryer, color cable TV, air conditioning, starter supply of paper products and detergents, fully equipped kitchen with dinnerware, flatware, pots and pans, plus local telephone service and 24-hour security in a gated community. First the good: The condo location is excellent with a large screened in porch that opens directly onto the boardwalk with an easy walk to the beach. It is also centrally located to the pool. The rental management company worked with us when we were delayed checking in by two nights due to historic rainfall in South Carolina.
But, the unit is shabby and unclean. We found a wet towel in the bathtub upon check-in. We encountered 10 or more roaches, especially in the kitchen, including the very first night as we unpacked. The guest bathroom shower curtain was extremely molded along the bottom third. The linens were threadbare including a large hole in the sheet on one of the twin beds. The outer coverings and decorative pillows were visibly stained. Carpet throughout had stains. Lamps were iffy...one only worked by plugging it in because the switch was broken, and others had switches that were falling off but would work when you put the switch back on. Overall, the bedrooms were dark due to insufficient number of lamps. All of the grout, especially in the guest bedroom, was dirty. Moldings along the walls are separating and dirty, and the place needs repainting. The screen door on the porch needs new screen in the upper portion of the door as it was flapping open from the frame. The master bed was squeaky and small (doubtful it was a Queen size). The walls are thin and the neighbors upstairs could be easily heard, especially when they dragged furniture around on their porch over our heads. Our message left for property services to clean the place and exterminate was not returned. We did succeed in reaching someone to replace the moldy shower curtain. The televisions are quite small, and the guest bedroom does not have one.
This unit needs a major overhaul and more attention to detail. The location is fantastic, but the unit is not presently worth the price they are asking. Other units in the building have been recently renovated are are beautiful and clean (based upon our firsthand knowledge).
